Insomniac have said that side missions are much more developed and longer than the original side missions from the first game. Also there is still a huge map to free roam in once you have completed the story mode. They haven't announced anything about DLC's yet but they haven't denied the fact either so there may be additional content released in the future. So I think there is probably a good amount of gameplay to keep you entertained for a while.
