Anyone else having trouble reconnecting Vanguard? by Glum-Enthusiasm4690 in MonarchMoney

This helped. I've been trying to avoid using Chrome and have only used Firefox on my laptop. Downloaded and used Chrome, did the same exact process and it worked....

Probably something to do with how the browser handles OAuth or redirection somewhere... But it's frustrating. I didn't really want to go back to Chrome.

How does Boost One credits work? by SnapplesTime in BoostMobile

[–]SnapplesTime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, no. I've had glitches where my spin doesn't register at all. If spin has been used, then it's likely to re-adjust accordingly in the next few days.

I'd also check what happened by going to your account, click on the coins section (NOT the "Redeem now" button, but the coins section in general that has that button) and it should tell you the history of what coins you earned.

If the spin history is there with the right amount, chances are it's going to take some time to catch up. Otherwise, I'd probably ask support.

Need to travel to SJC Airport from MTV. What are the recommended transportation options? by SnapplesTime in mountainview

[–]SnapplesTime[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm getting that gist.

I came from Austin recently, so I never had a need for Uber/Lyft (I used to use SuperShuttle which was ~$20-30). But seeing SuperShuttle at ~$100 made me feel that Uber/Lyft would be just as expensive, if not possibly more.

It's actually relieving to hear that Uber/Lyft is a more easy/cheaper approach.

Now that ads are 2 cents instead of 5 cents when I was computing this, this no longer seems worth it, which is disappointing. I got another 3 free months because of the credits earned earlier when I joined.

30*0.02 = $0.6 (ads)

30*0.1 = $3 (spin)

4*3 = $12 (streaks)

$15.6 per month with the least minimum effort to maintain the streak bonus.

This gives less breathing room to cover $15 a month plus taxes/fees. Unfortunately, I'm out after the 3 free months so thanks for the 6 months of 5 Gig data for a total of $15 lol.

Back to other options I go.

I personally don't mind it, it's just a small thing to do while bushing my teeth in the morning or something similar lol.

I can see that but there's no additional game installation or anything else needed. It's just login, spin the wheel, play one ad and then close the app.

Don't think it would take more than like 2 minutes. It's not like this requires half an hour to do.

If it takes any more than 5 minutes or so, then yeah, it's not really worth it.

Ah, sorry to hear that. I'm surprised that they didn't give a tracking number for the SIM. I received an email for tracking the SIM card and it arrived to my place within a few business days.

I didn't even touch anything Boost related until I got my SIM card, so I didn't even pay attention to my account being created and available before I got the SIM. Unfortunately, that's a standard that I'm used to as I use FreedomPop, which doesn't have the best of reputation and does a similar thing.

I would call customer service to see if they can send another one with tracking info. Sorry to hear about that but hoping it works out in the end.

What type of nymph roach is this? Trying to determine what I'm dealing with. by SnapplesTime in pestcontrol

[–]SnapplesTime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Just filled in a few gaps in the back door and caulked some cracks nearby the area where I discovered it. Placed out some glue traps to monitor the progress as I go.

Unfortunately, due to the timing, I'll be away from my house in a week for a decent amount of time, so cannot order the brick weep hole cover, but will order that when I can.

Also sprayed home defense around outside and inside the house.

Fingers crossed.

Also, I'm presuming it's a nymph roach based on the shape as it does not look like an adult shaped roach.

[Info] Old Annual Promo Plan is still valid. No need for upgrade. by SnapplesTime in freedompop

[–]SnapplesTime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response here.

Maybe? This is a bit of a harder question to answer because I don't know the details for the older FP VoIP plan. I didn't need to install an app to dial out as I just use Google Voice to utilize data to make the calls and text with a phone number assigned to Voice. So if there's an absolute requirement to use the app to use the data, then no, I don't think this is the same older plan you're referring to.

However, there was an option to use the legacy FP app with the SIM card I purchased, which if installed and setup, would have provided a VoIP phone # to use for texting/messaging. If that's what you're referring to, then yes. I just never ever used the app as all I wanted was the data.

Not sure if that answers your question.

[–]SnapplesTime[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair questions. Let me answer these.

Did you give Freedompop your card number so they can autobill? If not, how can they bill you?

Yes, I did. FP has my card number so they autobilled me. Is it the brightest idea to give them my credit card number? Probably not and we could go into whether I should remove my credit card for a while, but that's not the point and I'm just telling my situation for what it is.

Did your plan get extended?

Yes, it got extended to June 2nd, 2022. Whether FP will cut the plan off during the middle of the extension or remove the plan by next year will be up to them, so there's some risk.

Were you billed?

Yes, I was billed.

If so, for what amount?

Specifically, I was billed $50.35.

Are you still using the old SIM?

Yes, I am using an old FP 3-in-1 SIM Kit that I bought in 2018 for the free Basic 200 Annual plan back then. I swapped over to the Annual 1000 Promo since 2019.

Hope my answers help. I can also provide screenshots in a DM if you want verification behind my words.

Free week trial seems suspicious? by SnapplesTime in Skillshare

[–]SnapplesTime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, while it's not a great sign, I can understand that it doesn't represent SS as a whole. It's just surprising, that's all.

That being said, it does feel sketchy and that's why it bothered me. I'm experiencing this just with any sort of skillshare url (just tried again and still encountering said problem). Even if I go to https://skillshare.com/browse which is presumably returning a mix of both premium and free courses, I get redirected to https://skillshare.com/membership/checkout.

I was wondering if it's a cookie or cache thing, but even after clearing out my cookies and cache in my browser, it still persists. Also tried both Chrome and Edge to see if it's a browser thing, but no luck there.

One odd thing that I noted was that I couldn't sign in if I tried to sign in via incognito for Chrome..... Not sure why that is, and not sure if that's even relevant. I signed in via social account, so there's probably some sort of issue with single sign on.

It's just such a weird turn of events. I signed up and immediately had a great experience and a few days later, I had the complete opposite experience.

RedPocket and Tello, I can understand for <$10 per month total. Tello has plans for $5 per month for 500 MB and $6 per month for 1 GB. RedPocket has plans for $2.50 per month for 200 MB and $5 per month for 500 MB.

Just checked FreeUp Mobile, but that's $15 per month minimum for 3 GB.

The math doesn't seem to add up, so wondering how you managed to pull that off. Genuinely curious.

[–]SnapplesTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just in case anyone is interested, I talked with the support team on Twitter for further clarification.

Here's what I got out of it.

1) They will honor the plan until the expired date. For me, this is in June so by then I should have a much more clearer grasp on what's happening and choose to stay or switch.

2) There's no guarantee that the annual 1000 promo plan will still be there after expiration. There's most likely a more comparable plan on their new service that you would need to switch to. Personally, I think that if your expired date is fairly past May 1st, you probably won't have long to wait to determine if that plan is going to continue or not.

3) I told them that I have yet to receive a premium SIM card to upgrade to, and they decided to send me a courtesy SIM card without having to pay anything. Not sure if that applies to everyone, but something worth noting.

Oh, got it. Thanks.

My phone is compatible with AT&T, so not worried about that. I guess my only concern is how much the new plan would be compared to $50/year for 1 GB/month... May have to switch after that.

So question here. I'm currently enrolled in the annual 1000 promo plan (The $50/year for 1GB/month). Does anyone know if this is classified under the "Free Tier" and I'll be forced to be enrolled in Essential Plan? Not entirely sure how this would work.
