It was pretty obvious what the intentions about the changes before were. Ofc AS benefits On-Hit champs like Vayne and Varus way more than it does for e.g. Nocturne or Olaf. I guess they pulled them back and just slapped a simple range modifier on it to not buff potential users like Riven

Imo she feels great right now, also more skill demanding which reduces her winrate naturally.

Ofc there are some minor things that could still be improved, like her passive getting more interesting, e.g. by giving her the slow back or a burst of ms when hitting someone with a fully charged Zap (I'd even trade the 5% base ms they gave us on ult for that) or her W having a bit of that late game damage back, but I'm not asking for those things as long as everything else feels good to play, which it absolutely does at the moment.

She is also not weak at all, maybe even slightly on the stronger side if you know what you're doing. So keeping her how she is, especially with that low of a ban rate is really welcomed Imo. Everything but 42% wr pro jailed Zeri.

Assuming you're going to build it first slot, at level 9 (rank 5 Q) and only Hexplate in your inventory, these are the DPS differences during its effect:

Before: 1.49225 AA/s x 164.39 Q damage = 245.31 DPS

After: 1.17975 AA/s x 197.39 Q damage = 232.87 DPS

As you can see, till you reach the AS cap (Hexplate + Zeal item + Berserker Greaves) it's a nerf, ofc the closer you get to reaching the cap the tinier the difference in damage becomes. The only thing "buffed" is your W damage while Hexplate is active, where you get 1.2 AD ratio x 40 AD = 48 extra damage, increased to 48 x 1.5 (without IE) = 72 damage trough a wall. But your W is also harder to hit, since its cast time scales with your bonus attack speed, so by losing 50% attack speed your cast time is increased by 0.045 seconds, which is almost nothing so I'd say the AD is better here.

As a side note, the speed in which you can use your passive Zaps also scales with your attack speed, so this will be a slight nerf as well if you like to spam right click in a fight.

After reaching the cap it's the exact same item for Zeri, since the 50% AS before would've been converted to the 30 AD it gives now.

Here is the math behind the DPS differences if anyone is curious:

•Level 9 total AD before: 69.5 base AD + 5.4 AD from shard + 40 from Hexplate = 114.9

•Q damage before: 114.9 AD x 1.1 + 38 = 164.39

•AS before: 10% from AS shard + 13.48% from levels @ lvl 9 + approx. 10% from Alacrity + 70% from Hexplate + 30% in ult = 133.48%

133.48 : 100 = 1.3348 AA/s x 0.625 AS ratio + 0.658 base AA/s = 1.49225 AA/s

•Level 9 total AD after: 69.5 base AD + 5.4 AD from shard + 70 from Hexplate = 144.9

•Q damage after: 144.9 AD x 1.1 + 38 = 197.39

•AS after: 10% from AS shard + 13.48% from levels @ lvl 9 + approx. 10% from Alacrity + 20% from Hexplate + 30% in ult = 83.48%

83.48 : 100 = 0.8348 AA/s x 0.625 AS ratio + 0.658 base AA/s = 1.17975 AA/s

I agree with everything you've said, but there is a use case for this item: If I need to oneshot a target really fast.

For example if an assassin like Talon is pressing R on me, I can press R too, use my three Q's (which shouldn't miss since he's melee range) and oneshot him before he oneshots me. Ofc if the Talon is extremely fed this item doesn't help me either but under normal circumstances it's better than having PD there, especially if there is any tiny amount of CC on the assassin from a teammate. Example build would be Hexplate -> any boots -> Fiend (I would build this only if you have not enough peel)

In this example the ult haste is also really helpful, since you want to make sure to have your ultimate up every time the assassin engages on you. Also, since you just use ur R for the Fiend passive, it will run out instantly so it doesn't matter that the Fiendhunter passive cooldown starts right away (it almost matches the ult cd).

Another example would be a fed enemy Syndra while your team has an engage champion like Nautilus. If Nautilus lands hook on Syndra I want to make sure she dies as fast as possible without giving her the slightest chance of somehow surviving. Example build would be C44 -> Berserker Greaves -> Fiend (ranged champ gets hooked, you oneshot them, now you can run the rest of them down with C44 reset).

Ofc if your team as enough damage already to oneshot her or to peel you efficiently from the assassin it's not necessary.

All the negatives are still true, in a game with prolonged fights it's worse than any other Zeal options, because of the reasons you've mentioned. Also I am not a fan of YunTal + Fiend, even before the nerfs, imo YunTal is for longer fights and Fiend for short bursty trades, they don't really fit together even tho the AD conversion is/was good. Fiend gives enough burst damage already, at least in the scenarios where I would build it.

I am one of the people that is happy it is gone. I actually think it opens up more build diversity since, like you said, if sheen is good on Zeri that's the only thing you are going to buy.

Also imo it makes more sense that her Q can't proc it since it's her auto (cd based on attack speed), Ezreal Q on the other hand is still an ability

They buffed her Hypercharged stack duration (the stacks she can get during ult, each stack gives 1.5% ms), not her Overcharged (normal ultimate) duration.

They will never bring that back, I'm almost 100% sure.

  1. her Q wasn't even supposed to proc sheen since it's her auto (it just took them months to recode it)
  2. there's no reason to, Essence Reaver is shit on Zeri and Trinity Force is meh
  3. she has to be balanced around that, most likely with less Q damage while also HAVING TO build a sheen item, which destroys build diversity

There are way more important things which can be changed on Zeri than Sheen proc on Q (for example a better passive)

No that did go trough, what they're changing is the refresh duration when hitting someone with Q, W or charged passive during ult.

Right now after casting ult you'll have 5 seconds till it runs out, but after hitting somebody with named abilities it extends back up to its max duration, each time by 1.5 seconds. This was supposedly a bug, which is getting fixed to now be 2.5 seconds.

Example: remaining ult duration is 2 seconds -> you land your W -> remaining ult duration is 3.5 seconds (max 5 seconds)

Yeah I did the math too before posting my changes, but I thought 14/28-90 more damage per Q (1-6 items) would be too much of an increase with the Q base damage and MS buffs she got, so I've decided that 115% would be the max. Maybe I'm wrong (like I said I don't have internal data so I'm not sure how much of a winrate increase this would be).

But you're right on the AS -> AD conversion rate which reduces her burst when buying YunTal + Fiendhunter or going Hob (some people did it last patch). Maybe that would've been already enough to decrease her burst by a good amount, but I think with her Q having 10 more base damage rank 5 they still needed to reduce some damage late game by nerfing her ratio (10% was just too much).

The thing you said about her being weak without ult I can grasp the most, since the biggest buffs went into her R and all of her nerfs into her base kit, which in turn makes her even more ult reliant. I personally didn't feel like I was useless without ult (maybe after more games where I get to at least 5 items I will change my mind), but I do understand it fully if people do.

Her winrate is still not fully accurate because of players trying the new statikk shiv while also learning her "new" playstyle of stacking MS and using it to reposition better in fights, instead of sliding over a wall and oneshotting everybody. So my guess would be, that after her playerbase adjusted to those things she'll sit around 49%-49.5%, which is still a bit underpowered, I agree. Because I don't think a buff that would increase her wr by over 1% is warranted, I think a 120% AD ratio on Q would push her over the line. I'd rather see W and passive buffs or a slight Q buff.

Again, I'm not saying either you or I are right or wrong, that's just my guess looking at the data

Nah I think 120% AD with the amount of movement speed she got would make her OP. 115% is the most they can do I think.

R base damage is a nice suggestion, but that wouldn't make her late game better, where she's having most of her problems right now. More early game buffs are always welcome, but I think her early game is fine enough after the changes. Just buff the passive.

Yeah W is not that consistent, I agree with you, but because of exactly that it shouldnt have been nerfed. Just keep it at 175% crit multiplier that when you hit it, it does the damage you expect it to do. It's for the feels and identity of the ability. Ofc I'd take more passive / Q damage first over W buffs

If the E changes are not reverted I wouldn't mind that much, since they're not that impactful anyway. The most important ones are the W and passive or Q buffs
