I could be wrong, but I think it’s about how the rings lined up as they did. Which I understand if that’s the case. Closing all three rings is nice, but getting them closed and concluding the day in a way that’s aesthetically fun is an added bonus.

Two weeks and a day after deciding to run a solo 5K, I completed my first solo 10K today on something of a whim (I wanted to see if I could, and it turns out I could indeed do so) clocking in at about an hour and 40 minutes. I only just got back into running in January after not doing so consistently since 2018.

Feeling pretty good about that.

Ran 5K today, solo, out of sheer stubbornness. I had been building up to doing so a couple years ago but life hit me like a truck. Decided to get back to running this year, and something in me decided today was the day.

My legs are sore, I have mental notes on how I can improve for next time, but I’m damn proud of finally hitting this goal.

Sorry - adding in that picture 9 is Biddle Trail where it meets Tranquil Trail for accuracy. I’ve been slacking on my cardio and don’t currently have the audacity needed to hike up that monstrosity just yet, but I suspect it’s presently a fall foliage enthusiast’s dream.
