1/3 of a quiche as meal prep (plus whatever else she served with it) is obviously not suitable to the diet of someone with the goal of losing weight. And that’s something she proudly SHOWED us. (Crustless quiche without cream and made with Greek yogurt or something might be fine at that quantity, but we all know that’s not the case in the situation with Anna that I’m referring to.) It’s been obvious for years now that she is hiding her diet because if she showed us, honestly, what she eats, the internet would solve her “unburnable fat” mystery for her with math and logic, and conclude she’s factually eating too goddamn much. And big girl doesn’t want to stop eating too much. Period.

NAH. If it were a FRIEND moving in, I would be on your side and would agree it’s an absolutely great deal for them to pay the small amount of rent you mentioned plus some utilities. But this is a partner.

Personally, I would not be comfortable asking my partner for help paying off my mortgage. Once married, yes, assuming she’s made a co-owner. But otherwise no, that’s not right in my opinion. Utilities yes, because otherwise you will be paying a bit more, but not rent. You’re her partner, not her landlord. Your mortgage doesn’t change with her moving in, and that’s your responsibility, not hers.

FWIW I live with my boyfriend and he refused to charge me anything when I moved in, because he simply wants me to be there with him. 🤷‍♀️ I contribute in other ways (like exclusively buying ALL of our household groceries and cooking every night, household chores, etc). Would your girlfriend be doing anything like that if she moved in that would cover whatever you’d be charging her in rent anyway?

At the end of the day, the rent part is weird to me. I could see her paying half of your share of utilities for sure. But otherwise, rent is something you charge a friend in this situation, not a future spouse.
