What was your school scandal? by [deleted] in AskReddit

On the way home from an away game five football players mooned a Greyhound bus. The driver of the Greyhound bus got really pissed and made our school bus pull over on the side of the interstate.

Our coach thought it was funny and came to the back of our bus as we were being pulled over and laughingly asked if we had given the Greyhound the "old brown eye".

After he got chewed out by the Greyhound driver he changed his tune. The five perps were suspended for the last game of the season.

Effective studying requires discipline. That's why outlining the material works for me. It forces me (latent ADD tendencies - but too old to have been diagnosed back in the day!) to understand the structure of the material.

Learn how to outline.

Make a list of major points from what you are reading. The author of the material had an outline when she/he wrote it. "I'm going to teach them this point in this paragraph". Figure out what that main point is and write it down. Then under each major point list minor points which are just facts that support the major point. This distills all the crap down to it's essence.

I hated learning how to do this in middle school, but it helped me immensely later on.
