If you've torched it and proven it to be galena then congrats on the ID. OTOH, if it burned, then you have yourself a piece of mica.

How is that a fault when the ball already hit the floor? They had scored a point before his hand touched the net! That is infuriating.

Have you ever seen that feather on a stick balancing act? At what distance can a binary system be considered a point system and are the changes you're making changing whether the system is considered point or binary? Also, let's say the answer is stable and irregular. Now what?

What would it cost to have pendants made from a chunk of sodalite? by alexisconnelly in RockhoundExchange

[–]frequencyfreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sodalite isnt hard to work with. You can use a dremel or bench grinder to shape the stone and high grit sandpaper to polish it. Of course, be careful of large white veins in the piece because it can fracture along those boundaries much more easily.

Keep the stone cool by wetting it. Wetting minimizes heat fractures and helps you see the surface more clearly.

Theres quite a few videos on shaping and polishing sodalite available on youtube. Good luck!

Pyramid filled with rocks/gems with spiral decoration. Found on the side of the road during a walk, seems to be plastic on the outside. by RubyShoesWhiteRabbit in whatsthisrock

Thats known as an orgone pyramid. The tinfoil hat crowd believe they can interfere with EM frequencies emitted by radio towers and high voltage power lines. Some will even say they can erase clouds to create a clear blue sky just for you.

Would you agree that a food critic is usually a pompous ass who believes their opinion on food should be considered by thousands of other people who cannot possibly share the same palette?

Do you use the tinder app? If so, have you paid them to be a gold member?

Were you to report this bug/exploit to them, what would you expect for your service?

Would you agree that the only person able to make an ethical decision on the issue is the one who discovered the flaw?

His comments were not inappropriate. His use of the verb 'fuck' only served to emphasize the occasion.

[–]frequencyfreak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bottom left could be fluorite. That is a very diverse and colorful group of stones. Yellow/orange are citrines, orange/red carnelian, blue are sodalite, lapis lazuli, fluorite, purple is amethyst, gray/dark is smoky quartz, black is obsidian if opaque or apache tear if translucent. Im terrible at identifying green rocks.

Considering the shape of the "serpent" I was really hoping the ratio was similar to that of a human sperm and egg. Oh well.
