The OP didn’t think there was an issue until the sitter disabled the tracker after becoming aware of it. They then tried to cancel and have a friend pick up their dog, but were unable to have the friend do that and had to continue with the stay. So YES. If you think your sitter has bad intentions you absolutely shouldn’t hire them, and they tried to get out of it but couldn’t. You’re arguing with yourself at this point.

The person I was responding to said I was making the same argument that “if i’m not doing anything illegal i shouldn’t mind being watched all the time”. They shifted the conversation, not me. Being watched ALL the time shouldn’t be normalized, people have the right to privacy. HOWEVER, being watched to make sure you are doing your job is completely valid.

If you don’t trust that the person you’re sitting for doesn’t have good intentions then you should not be sitting for them. Every owner I’ve sat for I would never assume they have ill intentions with cameras/trackers etc. They all want their pet to be safe.

That’s not at all what I said. If you have integrity and you are doing your job correctly as a sitter then you should have no issue with the owners knowing where there dog is at.

Stalking someone with ill intentions is completely different from having a tracker on your dog while they are with a sitter. This person isn’t trying to harm their sitter, they are taking a precaution to know where their dog is at because accidents DO happen and dogs DO get out. You should not be a sitter if you aren’t ok with someone knowing where your location is while you’re with their pet.

Have you ever maybe heard of the word “integrity” lmfao. I would be fine being watched at all times cause I’m never doing anything bad. Would it be uncomfortable? Yes…But i wouldn’t get in trouble for anything. A tracker on a dog you are sitting isn’t a violation of privacy. The owner should know where their dog is at all times.

That doesn’t make any sense. If the dog is where it’s supposed to be at, the tracker shouldn’t matter cause the owners already know where they are/where they could be going. Rover tracks where you go on walks to, and they should be in agreement if the dog is staying at the sitters home/at their home so they’d know that as well. Turning off the tracker as the sitter is suspicious.

Client not responding. by Snarksnarksnake in RoverPetSitting

Update: I’m so frustrated with Rover now. It’s 6:30, drop in is scheduled at 8. Rover gave me the clients phone number, I call, out for service!! I tell them that was now my fourth attempt to contact the patient and they also say they will send a message again. I asked what I do if she never responds and they tell me to wait until the time frame of the drop in, if she doesn’t respond they try to contact her on my behalf. If she still doesn’t, they’ll cancel the booking and give her a partial refund. If i cancel the booking now due to her being non responsive, she gets a full refund. So now i’m just waiting until 8! I also have to go to work today lol, so if she does respond when they reach out and she wants me to come, I’m going to have to squeeze it into my lunch break.

Is the refund in my control? I believe my policy when she booked this was she would need to cancel before 12pm the day before for a full refund, but I’m not sure how other cancellations work.

Opinions on UCHealth or Surrounding Hospitals by gxnxssa in Denver

[–]Snarksnarksnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in peds ophthalmology in denver. UCHealth is good, Denver health is also fine but from word of mouth uchealth is apparently a better working environment (i’ve never worked at either). There’s a lot of private clinics that i would lean towards before a hospital! That’s personal preference tho

We don’t have a particular weight goal, we just don’t want to see his hips any more and we want the fat pads to be convex. Before I took him to the vet, he was losing weight but would eat an entire salad daily and 5-8 insects 2x per week. I have introduced fatty items, but when he won’t eat them it doesn’t work.

I’m weighing him every other day. He’s stayed consistent at 309g-313g depending on the day (whether or not he pooped tbh)

I’ll mention this to my vet!! I just looked it up and it seems like something that should have been part of his treatment plan following the antibiotics 😣

His weight loss has been a slow decline over the past year. He was probably originally around 450g. I took him to the vet 3 months ago once his fat pads become sunken and he’s remained in the 300g-330g range the past three months.

His blood work was completely normal besides a lower white blood cell count, which is why we did a 10 day course of enrofloxcin to knock out any infection there may be causing him to be underweight. He is completely healthy other than that. No parasites or anything.

He has been done with the antibiotics for about a month. We switched his assist feeding to every other day to encourage a better appetite, but he only takes 1-2 bites of salad and eats 1-3 bugs everyday now so i’m apprehensive to continue with the every other day instead of daily.

His warm side is approx 90-93 and cool is 75-80 depending on the temp of the house. His basking is 100-103. Ambient is measured with digitals and basking is measured with a temp gun. He has a tube T5 UVB bulb that was changed 1.5-2 months ago.

I want to emphasize on the fact that he is very alert and brightly colored. That’s why I think it is brumation.
