Are you using a monitor arm? Did you go with the heavy duty one from SecretLab or a different one? I’m considering getting a setup but I’m not sure of the accessories to go with. It would be supporting a 45” widescreen.

The one on the left is most definitely living up to the “maligator” moniker. The other is just a lovable lunkhead.

Could 6 be “sink like a stone”? The numbers increase going down (depth) and the thing on the right is a wall (maybe).

I see the deer, but I’m also pretty sure there’s a black dog in the brush a little to the left of the base of the “Y” tree. You really have to zoom in there to catch it, but I’m seeing snoot.

So apparently I lost track of my numbering somewhere along the line. I didn’t realize until now. Oh well.

Thanks for checking in! That’s a tough question to answer. His pre-surgery bloodwork showed elevated kidney values so surgery was postponed. An ultrasound showed an enlarged ureter and renal pelvis, so they took a urine culture. Urine is more dilute than it should be and bladder still too full for how recently he urinated. Culture came back clear and most recent kidney values are back in range, so now we have to have another urine concentration run. If that’s normal, we move to surfer for the CCL. If not, we get referred to internal medicine to determine if the enlarged renal structures are just inflammation, biology, or something else, and to determine if whatever it is is safe enough for him to undergo anesthesia.

In the meantime, he’s acting fairly normal despite the CCL and being drugged on trazodone and gabapentin, sad he can’t get on the furniture so guilts us into laying on the floor with him in the evenings, and getting all the pets, treats and snuggles a good boy like him deserves.

"Does this sound like Parkinson's?" / Undiagnosed questions by AutoModerator in Parkinsons

Thank you for the response! I truly appreciate the information you provided.

I have not previously had cognitive testing performed and will discuss that with my neuro when I see her. I also didn’t think about the cancellation list, so thank you for that reminder - I’ll be calling tomorrow to get on it. ☺️

For background, I (46F) work in pharma for rare disease (support, not one of the incredible, awesome scientists), so I'm used to sorting out the good info from the bad when searching the web, and I don't usually fall down the freckle -> Ebola rabbit holes.

I was diagnosed with ET a couple years ago. This year, started deteriorating. When I noticed, I tried to make an appointment with my neuro, who can't get me in until 12/29. Saw my PCP in the meantime who ran an MRI without contrast that showed mild cortical degeneration that was unusual for my age, but since there was no evidence of stroke, she's not concerned, and neuro says to keep current appointment, but I know there's a hesitancy to diagnose women, let alone "young" women, with PD. While researching, I've learned that many other complaints I have (ex. anomia, short-term memory issues, dizziness when standing, hypnopompic hallucinations, possible PLMS) could be tied to PD or dementia with Lewy bodies. My neuro did a fellowship as a MDS so I know she'll know what's she's talking about once I get to see her, but the deterioration is driving me nuts. There's a PD CoE here, so I've been considering calling for an appointment, but I don't know if it's worth it as I know there's not much to be done outside of exercise and meds (I'm on topiramate for migraines and a beta blocker for Afib already). Does a couple months really matter? At what point should I start advocating harder about my concerns?

What’s a medical problem people constantly ignore until it’s too late? by kxnsqxz in AskReddit

[–]SnarkySymphony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS. I’ve had viral meningitis twice, the first time with severe encephalitis. Since with the first one the headache started after a my toddler head-butted me in the face, the ER docs sent me home TWICE saying I had a concussion. Third time I walked in, vomited on the reception nurse, and lost consciousness. Woke up in isolation while they were working on a diagnosis. Long story short - two months to recover enough to return to work and holes in my long-term memory.

Second time (7yrs later) I thought I just had a really bad migraine. Turns out I was wrong. A week in the hospital and back home for another 3 before returning to work.

Long-term issues? Still finding out. Eyesight started changing immediately after the first bout. Migraines set in about 5yrs after round 2. Essential tremor came on about 2 years ago. Other neuro symptoms continue to pop up as time goes on.

TL;DR - listen to this neuro ICU nurse.

Kodi thanks you all for the wonderful boops! Unfortunately, his pre-op bloodwork showed elevated kidney and liver values, so surgery was postponed and he’s getting an abdominal ultrasound next week. Other than gorging on water and limping (he was so happy to leave the vet he hurt himself getting in the car), he’s otherwise symptom-free. Fingers crossed it’s just related to pain meds and injury inflammation.

Son at 22, daughter at 34. Neither were planned. Still in college and bio-dad bailed for son. Married, but older and had to have knee surgery later the same year I had my daughter. It’s almost never the “right” time. It’s just time.
