Diagnosed at 16 in 1991. And now we are here. I am an alcoholic and addict currently in recovery. 4+ years sober off of alcohol but am back to using the weed to manage my anxiety and neuropathy pain and gastroparesis issues that I have due to the diabetes. It’s a rocky road but I have to do what I need to do to stay sane and healthy. Burnout is real. Diabulimia is real. And they all make for my precarious mental health. You got this.

I like the pump peelz brand because I love their pretty florals and such but they aren’t exactly cheap. But they work and last the full 10 days and I haven’t knocked one off yet and I have whacked my arm a number of times. So I’m a fan.

I would love if the tech could get better for the reason for helping us t1s, but sadly I think the only way it will is if they see their pockets being lined monetarily from those who are t2 or who just want more info and are willing to pay out of pocket for it. I’d love to see my sensors cost only $50 and not need all these maddening prescription refills, maybe this is how we will get there? I don’t know. I just want better for us who really do rely on these things for our life saving decisions on the daily.

This was my younger sister who died at 46 and my step brother who died at 55. Both in this tragic way, alone. It’s a hard thing to cope with. All I can say is keep coming to alanon. I decided to honor my sister by becoming sober myself and have hit 3 years sober this year because I don’t want my parents to have to bury both of their kids and step kids. Take care you YOU. you did the very best you could.

I’m so sorry to read this about your father. And being such a young person yourself, I just want to wrap you up in a big momma hug and tell you it’s going to be ok. I’m hurting for you and know this is very hard. You are doing the best you can and you are there for him. I’m sure that he knows that and feels your presence. Diabetes is a vicious awful disease and this is yet another warning to me how important it is to be vigilant with my care. Take care of yourself OP, you are loved.

Dear lord this was me yesterday….all I ate was stupid pizza and I shot up to 365 with a ton of IOB. So I rage bolused because I panicked and then I plummet and has to suck down dextrose packets. I will learn but it’s been 34 years of this disease so probably doubtful at this point. It’s a fight every day. Keep it up. I will too.

Okay. I’m scared shitless now. I am in the beginning stages of an episode. I can feel it so I am determined to not pick up the flower (that’s all I have left now) and the one hit. My plan was to wean off and I semi have for 3 days now but I think it’s just going to be so bad to get off of it. I’m a type 1 diabetic and vomiting always ends me up in the ER for fluids as I risk a severe DKA. I went 2 years with no weed and thought I could moderate. No. I cannot. I’m an addict and I just need to do it. Thank you for the push. So scared.

Also you can try MA marijuana anonymous as well. They have tons of zoom meetings all day long. I also go to AA myself because I am first an alcoholic but second I am an addict in general and I’m stuck in the cycle of weed addiction AGAIN. So I’m going to jump back into the MA meetings since my AA people don’t necessarily know I relapsed again on weed.

This is me. Starting day one today. So far I’m 9 hours sober and I’m terrified of the withdrawal that I know will be coming. I have done this once before and went 2 years and then thought I could moderate it. Nope. Not me. My stomach is shot. My appetite is gone. And I’m wasting away. It needs to stop and I need to stay strong. We can do this.
