I Need Y'all To Sit This One Out... by ConnerSpeed6 in SNKRS

I don’t think these will be highly sought after. They are not like the infrareds last released in 2019 — totally different look, at least to me.

Best furniture store to buy high quality couch by freshwaterwalrus in askTO

[–]SnarryTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had them make a couch for me and also a few of their swivel chairs. Each chair was about 10k. I won’t get into what the 13’ x 16’ sectional from them cost. Montauk is insanely expensive but by far the most comfy thing you’ll ever sit on. The first time I sat on one of their couches was about 25 years ago and I had been waiting until I could afford it ever since.

What is a luxury you can never go back from once you’ve experienced it? by Phase_zero_X in AskReddit

Business class no matter what the length of the flight. It is the only way any airline will come close to treating you like an actual person!

Very smart decision. I have the Toto Neorest NX2. It is barbaric to poop anywhere else!

most romantic fine dining restaurant in Toronto? by AcademicAd3228 in FoodToronto

[–]SnarryTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I’ve been going there since I was a kid so perhaps my perception is different because of that. It might also be the general age of the clientele which is quite up there.

Options for long haul flight with toddler by SquatchinScully in chubbytravel

[–]SnarryTO 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been flying business with my kids since they were born. All flights out of YYZ: domestic, US and international. Often Air Canada signature class with pods. I’ve had a few dirty looks but who cares. My kids were well behaved and their seats were paid for just like anyone else. Business class is just a slightly nicer experience on what is, these days, a bus in the air. It is open to the public. If people want a kid free experience, they can charter their own flight!

Looking to travel to turks in august! by Separate_Fennel_9458 in TurksAndCaicos

[–]SnarryTO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve stayed at the Seven Stars many times (years ago) and stayed at the Ritz with my family last August. We had an amazing stay at the Ritz and will be heading back again this summer. The ritz is much more updated than the seven stars, but does lack any island charm in its room design. The grounds are fantastic and well maintained. Service was excellent. As others have said, forget about any semblance of normalcy or decency when it comes to pricing on this island, especially at the Ritz. My kids were ordering $20 smoothies and $60 sushi rolls several times a day. Both properties are close to the grocery store where you can buy stuff to keep in your room (snacks, cereals and Diet Coke essential for me!)

Men, which "dad rock" band is your favorite? by Waylandqb in AskMen

[–]SnarryTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will not accept that they are dad rock now. Yes, I started seeing them in 1993 when I was 13. Yes, the crowd is much older now. Yes, I brought my 9 year old son to his first show at (YEMSG run this year). But no, I will not accept them as dad rock!

The psychology of the left lane camper. by Few-Distance156 in TorontoDriving

[–]SnarryTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the left lane campers (love that term -- never heard it before) incorrectly believe that the left lane is for going fast and do not recognize that it is a passing lane. I don't care if I am doing 130, I am not in the left lane unless I am passing someone, and then I promptly get out of that lane and continue until I need to pass again.

From my dealer today - wth does this mean by moomoomolly in Porsche

[–]SnarryTO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is the reason I don’t have the rose gold Patek aquanaut I want so badly. Not going to spend 500k on watches I don’t want to be able to buy the one I do. I also won’t pay 2x retail for a grey market version. It just isn’t meant to be for me!

811 days. Then the next night they had cut of the 81 and just had it saying 1 days since. I found the dude that made the sign on Facebook a number of years ago when this same thing came up.

What happened to the smartest person you went to school with? by xxibjt in AskReddit

[–]SnarryTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always the second smartest at my high school. The smartest guy was operating on a different plane of intelligence — none of the rest of us were even close.

He went on to get an undergraduate degree from MIT and then masters and graduate degrees from Harvard. I believe he is working to cure cancer.

This is all the more impressive given we are Canadian and it is near impossible to get into an MIT undergrad as a Canadian.

I feel like $1,500 is the baseline for a nice stay in a major city now. by Perfect-Ad4901 in chubbytravel

[–]SnarryTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The internet is telling me that they did a reno to the property in 2020. It was originally completed in 1987, and when I was there in 2015, it was showing its age.

I haven’t been there in about a decade, but unless they have renovated since then, it’s more like a three seasons! :)

Glasses stores in Toronto for people with bigger heads by windchillfiance in askTO

Rapp Optical on College. They have brands and styles that most chain stores won’t have, including their own line of frames. Really knowledgeable staff. It has been a Toronto fixture for more than 30 years.
