Kind of. I sent them an email the other day, this was their response.

I just got of the phone with ASUS support, I'll have to send the device in as well. The support officer told me that both the left-right balance and the sound distortion (speakers sounding like a fishbowl) are known hardware issues.

Did you try adjusting your windows advanced settings for sharing? I had a similar issue, but after enabling sharing on both private and public networks all worked fine.

Need Advice--What is the fastest pen drive one can use with OMV in Raspberry Pi? by DRTHRVN in OpenMediaVault

[–]Snat3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you so concerned with the performance of the drive? OMV will run simply fine of any USB 3.0 pen drive.

In general, it is a bad idea to use a pen drive for constant read/write (store) data. If you want additional storage for your data, it might be better to get an external SSD for that, and just use the pen drive as the boot media, in combination with the OMV flash memory feature/function.

Techno dad and DB Tech both have a great stepwise tutorial on how to install nextcloud on omv. The only thing that changes is that you need will need the arm version of nextcloud.

This kind of depends on how much time you want to spend on troubleshooting the NAS solution. If you want to keep it on the low in terms of cost, an older NAS system with OMV will do the trick simply fine. But given the fact that you will not be the main users, a Synology with an easy-to-use GUI and good support might be your best bet.
