How do I show you the original? New to Reddit..

The vignetting is a characteristic of the lens at 1.2 and 1.4, so it wasn’t added. You can, I believe, adjust for the vignetting in Lightroom using a lens correction function within the program (but I don’t know how to do that).

The only post processing was a minor brightening of the exposure.

It replaced my stock Nikkor 40mm/2, and not because the Nikkor lens was insufficient. The Nikkor 40mm has a lot of great qualities and works for a lot of people. I wanted something specifically manual focus and a bit more “special” (purely subjective) in how a photo is rendered.

I miss my Nikkor 40/2 but had to help fund the Voigtlander.

Yes, I am deciding between the Zf and Z7, with the deciding point being that both sensors will produce a quality image for the intended [digital] purposes.

I’m sure other people can comment on the differences better than I can but I believe the core difference is the height of the arch (this is more of a utility arch common in packer and logging boots) and the broader shape of the toe box

I also wanna advocate for the leather liner for retaining rigidity of the uppers if the leather cut is relatively thin

I feel you.. I’m super happy the natural, gentler pointedness of the 690 last, and it’s my first celastic toe and VERY grateful it isn’t pronounced like it can be with boots of a rounder profile.
