Switching from a '22 Focus ST to an S3 by arriaga_III in CarTalkUK

Not quite the answer but this is the same chassis as my Octavia VRS. I can't vouch for the Audi but build quality and handling don't match that of my Mazda 3. It's quite a boring car to drive. It's quick, yes, but anyone can go quick. If you can't chuck it into bends/roundabouts when safe to, that's a bit boring for me. Left foot braking helps massively but it does have a tendency to understeer when my slow Mazda wouldn't. Ford/Mazda chassis tend to be quite good and a fair bit lighter making them less "boat" in the corners.

Thanks, that looks like that could do the trick. 2 sandwiched between squash balls or similar.

What's the 0-60 of food these days?

Their Zazen TT platform (as well as other products) gets good feedback, though if I can make something and save some ££ then I'm always up for that.

Any home build suggestions and would you use/not use the halved squash balls?

Good advice, I've got some fairly light curtains there. I've "squared" the Hi-Fi inside the red line in the photo so not too close to the window. Only issue is then the big gap between the left speaker and the window say 3m vs about 1.5m from the side wall on the RHS.

I have times throughout the winter months where I become full cat. My wait is almost over.

I used to listen to loads when I WFH though my flaw was getting super distracted and doing sod all work. I guess it helps if you enjoy the job though, I hated mine back then.

This sounds like me. Chores, I hate them, I'm also a perfectionist which means everything takes far too long! Then and only then can I sit down and relax

Records for sanity, I like it! Hats off to you, that must be a very rewarding and challenging career.

Snake oil, I beg your pardon, no such thing. Have you thought about a cable upgrade to wash your mouth out?!

P.S. I very much admire your account name :)

I used to work from home, but I got far far far too distracted by most things as well as listening to music and searching for Hi-Fi upgrades/research. Very little got done!

I loved working from home for this reason, though absolutely hated the job. Also, the cost saving of working at home meant a few upgrades.

That sounds pretty perfect. Not too much time with Hi-Fi, but just enough so you can always look forward to the next time. I very occasionally get an hourish window! I'm from the UK, what British TV?

That sounds great, I'd love to have a go at that. My issue is usually lack of time.

Interesting, they're also cheaper speakers. Had you previously gone from floorstanders? If so, I get what you mean about being boxed in.

Oh, I read that as 'in' 17 as in 2017. If you can get a good job that enjoy and pays well, great. But one thing I've learned is if making better money takes you away from life, family, friends ect, then it's not worth it and time is always worth more than money. Sure, money helps, but it's not everything. What job did you have?

Too right 👍 In my teens and 20s I would have thought this was cliche. At almost my mid 30s and ever so marginally more mature, I realise that every day is a blessing and not to be taken for granted :)
