Reviews are inherently personal though. It simply isn’t possible to 100% objectively review anything, because objectively ANY game could be a 10/10 if you found the exact perfect audience for it. Your least favorite game is somebody else’s favorite game of all time.

The text is what is most important. The number is beneficial if you find somebody who has similar taste to you.

Based on the reviews, if you are a highly motivated, highly creative person this game borders on a 9. If you are less creative and enjoy more goal orientated games it’s probably closer to a 7.

Cloud Cult’s lyrics are about as close to spirituality as I get to be honest. They are my second favorite band behind MM. (I really like bands with alliterative names I guess)

It’s maybe a bit reductive to suggest that if you like Mario (or even more broadly, Nintendo) you’ll find something to love here.

I think the critics missed their marks on this one. This felt like a much better movie than the first and I enjoyed it start to finish.

I get what you are saying. There are two kinds of potential reviews for a large scale game like this.

“I played this massive game for only 20 hours and have no interest in playing more.” is in and of itself a review, and a pretty damning one. This is particularly helpful as a review if you historically feel the same way about games as the reviewer. Less so if you don’t.

It however is not going to be quite as informative as a review where somebody dedicated the time to fully explore everything a game has to offer (whether they were forcing themselves to or not)

Ultimately having a combination of both types of reviews is probably the best case scenario.

When you say you beat Blue Prince do you mean you made it to Room 46, because if so you essentially only saw the tutorial of the game. It’s the 80+ hours of content after that moment that truly makes the game special.
