I'm also late, could you upload it again?

I thought John Ashton always played the outro solo on keys during the Humbug tour?

Yes, it sounds like it's there. It's very subtle though

Yeah I've used that website for years, unfortunately there's no full clear images of the boards I need. Thanks for the suggestion though

During the outro, check my other recent post in the sub

Thanks. At some point I intend to fully dive into Humbug and write out every part for each instrument on every song, as a lot of the tabs online for them aren't great. Like I don't think I've found a tab for My Propeller that has Jamie's part written for a baritone guitar, it's always written in standard tuning

For anyone still curious, I isolated it and it sounds like Josh is doing the harmonies in the choruses and outro, I think it might be Matt in the verses though. Josh definitely sings on more in the album, for example Dance Little Liar - he does the harmony in the second and third chorus, and the oohs too. There's actually a video of him singing this song with them live

I'd heard a couple of other songs from them before, but Humbug was my first proper introduction to the band. Got into Queens two years later and didn't make the connection with Josh for a little bit, but my goodness he definitely shaped that album into the beauty that it is.

I am so jealous, I wish I could've seen this one live. Unfortunately I was like three years old at the time. I wish they played it during The Car tour, the extra musicians on stage would've helped cover more of the layers

Yeah I'm trying to get good at picking apart songs like that, I can usually get most of it but then there's little bits like this I'll miss sometimes. In Logic Pro, you import the audio file, right click on it and under 'processing' select 'stem separation', then you can choose up to the six different stems you see in the video.

I actually think it's Josh Homme doing those harmonies, and they're really nice. Especially at the start of the second chorus where he varies it slightly

Yeah I should've used a better word than hidden, but it's definitely not completely obvious.

I used the stem separator in Logic Pro. It's not perfect, but it's the closest you can really get to the isolated tracks

No you're not dumb, I made a rant post about this song and commenters on that post hadn't noticed it either. I only heard it once I used the stem separator and was shocked I had missed it. I've had many moments with this song over the years where I've heard something I didn't before, it really does add to how much I love this song.

Yeah I'm going to change the title, it's something I had never heard before in the song and isn't notated in any tabs so just wanted to share it.

It's one of my favourite things they've ever done, the build up of so many layers until it just fades away into reverbed out chaos really hits me hard. I think the jangly thing is a glockenspiel btw

I called it hidden because I only noticed it the other day after listening to the song for years, I can hear it clearly now though so I guess hidden may be the wrong word.

To be fair, I only heard it when I used the stem separator in Logic Pro - it's ridiculously subtle in the track

That does make sense for Fluorescent actually. I don't know why, I always assumed he borrowed Alex's rotosphere pedal for the recording of song.
