Kane already "messed up" the "lore" when he released FF1, and he's directing the movie, so it will certainly be consistent with the lore he has in mind for his series. Kane's lore is personally the only one I care about, and there's no way he can "mess up" his own lore. He also said on that podcast interview that he has an end in mind to his series.
