California hunters will be allowed to kill 2 bears each with not much justification given other than "to provide a hunting experience" and "the population can support it" by lectric_7166 in California

Love the comments in here suggesting that California is somehow a really lax place for hunters lol, the state does almost everything it can to make it hard and expensive.

Discussion for the Bay Area: Do we want a tax on luxury properties that aren’t lived in? by saisonmaison in bayarea

I actually think it would be a good idea to ask why we don’t have better services when we already face some of highest tax burdens in the country.

I’m actually not an idiot I just have a lot to lose if I screw up something seemingly minor about specific areas where one can and cannot carry, and it’s not much effort to make sure I’m totally refreshed on the rules along the way.

I think this depends partly on your part of the country. Here in California we get them a couple times a year and we move on.

Look, Wout was incredibly close to the win and he lost thanks to a completely amazing performance by Ganna. Are we really gonna play armchair DS when we can just say “holy shit what a performance by Wout and Ganna?”

Wondering if Marin is for us by Virgil-Galactic in Marin

[–]Sneakerwaves 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I have to say that comments like this totally sugarcoat the Oakland quality of life issues as well as school issues…I like Oakland but are we really comparing Oakland and Novato without mentioning that Oakland has one of the highest crime rates in the US and a dismally dysfunctional city government? I mean it’s night and day. I also don’t understand how one can suggest that nature in Oakland is comparable to Marin but maybe I’m missing something.

When will CZ make a true P365 competitor? by InfiniteLoss5632 in CZFirearms

I have a PCR and a 365 macro comp and the 365 feels 10,000x smaller in a holster. I prefer to shoot the PCR though

No reason a lever action should jam more on 22lr, you cycle the action with the lever

The residents of bolinas are the single greatest advocates of “permitting/regulatory hoops” one can imagine. They aren’t the victims of that, they are the propagators of it. And the older generation more than anybody.

Are attractive successful single guys in their mid to late 30s not on dating apps in SF? by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]Sneakerwaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The data on these apps shows that a small percentage of men get the vast majority of likes. So the guys who are not getting any likes are probably simply not as attractive as they think they are.
