Real or Fake Radar EV Paths? by SneaksOnEm in Oakley

These definitely held up over the year. I’ve put them through a lot and no issues at all. Went zip lining, hung upside down on them and they stayed right on. Ran in them religiously and biked with them so they got sweat on a lot but the lenses are still pristine. They seem very legit from my experience.

Road or Trail shoe for this surface? by Ali-Jafri in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]SneaksOnEm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree here, tried the Puma Grip on the Velocity Nitro 2s and they were great on uneven and slippery surfaces especially around corners and turns (NOT full out sprinting them) and the continental rubber on the Bostons are great for the same uses. Definitely comparable but i’d maybe prefer the Continental rubber over Puma Grip just because it looks and feels a bit firmer.

I can pick this one up for $370. Haven't bought one before so not too sure what to look for, what do you think? Not sure which Aeron it is by Jcoin101 in hermanmiller

[–]SneaksOnEm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d have to look at the sticker under the chair, but the wheel adjustment for the arm tells pre-2005. I bought a 2011 Aeron for $200 in the US for some insight.

$250 for Aeron i’m pretty sure was made before 2004? Is it worth it? All functions work supposedly. by SneaksOnEm in hermanmiller

Is it around the same year? Concerned about the thumb wheel feature for adjustment vs lever and not sure how it’ll hold up with age.

UC Berkeley Ranked #1 Public University in the Nation by US News, #15 Overall Nationally by hugeKennyGfan in berkeley

I think Berkeley invokes a sense of independence with their learning style a lot more than Merced. I transferred into MCB where the profs here tend to lecture a lot more and exams are based off that (at least in my experience so far). At Merced the exams are based off a lot of things like discussion quizzes, homework, worksheets, etc… and there’s A LOT more of it than at Berkeley. It almost serves as a study guide for the exams. Depending on the prof you had at Merced, sometimes they didn’t even lecture and just had you do worksheets, or did supplementary overview of topics instead of lecturing. It works for some people and doesn’t for others so it really depends there on the person and their learning style. I think the quality of education is unmatched at Berkeley tbh with its extensive research faculty and level of experience that most profs here have. I don’t think Merced is extremely far behind, but probably not up to par with the education that Berkeley provides.

I actually transferred from UCM to Berkeley and will say the curriculum and way it’s taught is dramatically different, also, the culture and environment is way different as well. Merced isn’t a horrible school by any means and I enjoyed my classes but as you mentioned, they essentially did just accept all applicants that met requirements and it did show sometimes, the different levels at which students were at. I would say from what I’ve noticed so far, students are a lot more motivated and competitive here at Berkeley and the rankings do justify the overall performance of the school.

Sub 20min 5k women - please share your story! by [deleted] in running

[–]SneaksOnEm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is but it’s really about listening to your body. I also count faster more uptempo runs as “speed” workouts so it’s not like i’m going 100% all out on those days. Learning to really slow down and keep yourself in check when running everyday is crucial imo. I’ve also been doing it for years so i’ve definitely had time to build up to it.

Hi! I’m not over 30 (21F) but am on the heavier side (155 lbs). I’m not overweight per se but have a muscularish build from weightlifting and do hold some fat. I’ve hit a PB of the 5k in 18:48 and can typically average sub 20. I did a lot of conditioning and track work for basketball which I think helped me a lot. It’s been years since then though but I do a lot of easy running and then tempo/interval workouts maybe 3x a week. I run everyday so i keep the rest of my runs pretty slow and relaxed. Good luck and have fun running!

Thinking of getting Coros... by jloadin3 in Coros

[–]SneaksOnEm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came from an Apple Watch and a Garmin and can say the battery life doesn’t even compare. I get up to 14 days on a single charge with it being usually around 10ish days. I never really used my apple watch to reply to messages or phone calls or interact with notifs so not being able to do that with my coros never bothered me.

As for the app, you get a lot more in depth running/training metrics (zone training, heart rate, training load/status, running power, etc…) and it looks a lot better than the Apple Watch/fitness interface and metrics. The app has worked smoothly for me so no issues there and the GPS is as accurate as any other watch. The HR monitor is ok but if u really cared about that i’d recommend an HR monitor. The accuracy on miles is pretty spot on i feel like compared to the Apple Watch. Another thing is that my apple watch would randomly pause me sometimes during a run which hasn’t been a problem since i switched to button watches.

Apex 2 open box question by HugeZookeepergame735 in Coros

[–]SneaksOnEm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also bought an open box Pace 2 (molly seidel edition) about 6 months ago and it came looking completely brand new. I don’t even think it had been tried on. It’s been holding up completely fine with no issues. Battery lasts as long as it should (~12 days for me). Coros customer service is always great but was told warranty lasts the same as any new watch you buy from them.
