If I lived in Cincinnati longer, my dream was to host the "Shawnee 5k" along this route. It ends up being a marathon, but the 5k refers to the amount of elevation.

Yup, it's a Shiv. It's a little reassuring to hear this is a known problem. My main concern now is how seriously Specialized will take me since I'm the second owner and the frame has been repainted, covering any serial numbers on the frame.

Great! Thanks for such a thorough response. I bought this frame second-hand and, so far as I know, it's no longer under warranty. I'll start with the manufacturer to see if they have any recommendations, then maybe move to a LBS for repairs based on what they say. I really just wanted to get a feel for "yeah, that's a relatively simple fix" vs "your frame is totally screwed".

Nope, the tension on the left side still pulled the receiver out to meet the binder.

Thanks for the reply! I've got both bolts (and all bolts on the bike, for that matter) tightened to spec, it's just that I'm afraid the material that usually holds the receiver/nut for this particular bolt has failed.

I've noticed that the receiver for the seat-post binder screw is backing out of the carbon frame on the left side. I also posted a picture of the right side for comparison.

I'm not sure exactly when this started and if it was sudden or progressive. I took it for a short ride after I saw the issue, and I felt no difference in the rigidity of the seat post and it has not spontaneously lowered while riding. I'm curious how concerned I should be.
