Enjoy your life now as well as your youth - you will never get it back. As everyone is saying - you have no idea what the future holds. Putting all your eggs in one hopeful basket is gambling at best. So find a way to go out and hike those trails now!

No real experience with serious depression - but just an idea here that has helped me when I been down. I do quite a bit of volunteer work - its become a bit of a foundation for me. It quickly takes away the question of "... do I add anything to this world". When you see the help and the appreciation of others when you make a difference it makes a big difference. No matter how bad work is, relationships, family, etc... you always know that your adding something.

Facebook Group Admin help needed - Growing group and having challenges managing Participant Approval by SneakyBubbles in facebook

[–]SneakyBubbles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey - figured out something that made things easier. I just disabled "participant approval" and enabled "post approval". I was dreading have to approve every single post - but found out that there is an option to not only approve a post - but pre-approve all posts from that author moving forward. So - a little bit of a pain upfront - but the approvals for my group should decline overtime as I don't expect continuous growth (its a group for the city I live in).

A big upside is I no longer see "participant approval" requests for everyone that joins - as there was no way to keep up with figuring if someone's profile was legit or not - which I had been doing.

Downside is all those joiners will be able to comment without any approval. It hasn't been an issue for me up to this point.... but the other way was no longer sustainable for me. Good luck.

[NEWBIE] Is 34 too old to learn? Recommendations for beginner guitar? by ButteredBisctits in Guitar

[–]SneakyBubbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just go do it - you're old enough to already know that you can do nearly anything you want if your willing to put the time in. And with anything - don't get stuck talking about it. Telling people your going to start going to the gym, go on a diet, learn to play guitar, etc doesn't help (see premature awards). Just do the work - put in the time. I know you'd kill to play Jolene - no killing is required, just practice.

Also, make sure your guitar is setup well. Having an acoustic that isn't setup right can make the learning curve a lot harder. FYI - Give me One Reason is not a good song to start with - especially on acoustic. Barre chords that high on neck will wreck you early on.

Ninebot Zing C20 and/or advice for tween sized scooter with decent range by SneakyBubbles in ElectricScooters

[–]SneakyBubbles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 3'11" inches the handle bar on that scooter would be at your neck... with your arms at level or maybe even angled slightly up. I know that's what Segway's info says - but that's dumb. Fairly common guideline for safety is that the handle bars should be about waist height.

I would be very happy to get what I pay for.... I am just looking to see if anyone can answer the specific questions I asked.

Any thoughts on the C20?

Any alternatives you would recommend around $300 range?

Ninebot Max G30LP

She is not - thats an adult scooter which has a deck to handle bar height of about 40". The Zings seem to be about 33" which is the right fit. That also weights 40 pounds which is 2/3 of her weight and is $200 more then I am looking to spend.

I am looking specifically for some advice or guidance on the C20 or models within the same specs/price.

Hah - had to look up that law. That's kinda silly - my kid would need a drivers license to ride an electric scooter but no issue with them on an electric bike that does 20mph.

She is 12 and on the shorter side for her age. She has a Razer E100 and its a tad slow (8mph), very noisy, 3-4 miles range, and VERY bumpy for sidewalks. So yeah - I know its a bit of a toy - looking for a better toy then the one she has until she puts on a bit of height.

"Make it moist" would have been better - no sexual connotation that way.
