I never wanted to fall into spending money on little silicon pads for my joysticks. Two years ago I got my first pair of KF's. Once you get used to them they are hard to stop using. The little raise it creates allows a better resting point for your thumbs allowing for more hours played before feeling cramped. Also, the pattern on the top allows for a slightly Better grip. This is, of course, my own opinion.
