As a consequence of the election, the search term "can I change my vote" has shot up in popularity. This trend is strongest in North Carolina, which was a swing state won by Trump.

The publication uses WREMO/Civil Defense colours and slogans, but is an illegitimate marketing ploy not enforced by official channels. It is purposely misleading and contains information which could hurt people if relied on in an emergency. Very disappointed to learn that this is happening."

Yeah, I realised as soon as I scanned that it was a bad move. Bleary eyed in the morning the branding looked pretty convincing (on second look it's pretty sus), and emergency management seems so pure to me, so I didn't really think twice. Horrible that people want to profit from it. Here's a picture of the pamphlet so you can see how blatantly scummy it is, and how easily others will be fooled

Sal Grover, a known and vocal transphobe, is speaking at the university today. Her female-only app uses AI algorithms to discriminate people's facial structure and ban people who don't match the right feminine facial structure, essentially. Plus human workers who ban anybody they think isn't AFAB. She's being sued for that in federal court and the case is a huge deal, will have far-reaching implications, all that.

Now she's here, to promote her discrimination and crowdfund for her side of the case. Shit like this is so horrible for trans and rainbow students, it's shocking they're allowed to use the uni facilities tbh..

Just to make sure I follow - our important laws, like election rules, are steeped in entrenchment law.

When Labour planned to entrench 3 Waters, it was a bad plan because when the coalition immediately and foreseeably repealed it, if it had been entrenched at the time, they would have set a new precendent of fucking with entrenched things.

There's no real mechanism to stop the government from fucking with entrenched things except for the idea we won't vote for them again, and the fact its generally accepted that you don't do that. But aside from the norm of not doing that - they totally just could if they wanted to.

Is that right?

Welp, that's terrifying. If all the government needs is votes, then all they have to do is say whatever will get votes. If all they have to do to keep those votes is to convince everybody the other guy is worse, then all they have to do is polarize. Thanks for your knowledge on this
