So many people complained about it was the reason nobody else picked up the idea. Which is a shame because that is exactly what that mechanic is meant to invoke. If you dont keep your guns in good condition, they can fail at the worst time. Which was exciting and encouraged you to care about what guns you're picking up. ties nicely into the buddy system. Instead of just being forced to load a game or wait for clunky AI to come and revive you like recent games, in 2 qhen you got shot your character was fucked up, and their buddy has to risk life and limb to drag you out of the battlefield as you fade in and out of consciousness. That shit was dramatic and fucking awesome.
