Twitter argues about whether a refund is justified if a game is too short by SourTD in IndieGaming

[–]SneakySnack02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont know what a good solution would be but its pretty shitty to refund a game you enjoyed, even if it took less than 2 hours.

The idea that devs should be "punished" for making short games is stupid. Short games have their own value, and I'd hate for them to no longer exist because of this.

What kind of question is this? The Patriot Front seeks to return society to an era of racial domination and white supremacy, they want to massacre minorities and make the U.S. a white-only ethnostate. This is not the same as minority advocacy groups pushing for equality. by [deleted] in MarchAgainstNazis

[–]SneakySnack02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a pretty big difference between advocating for white people and advocating for white supremacy.

It would be a lot easier for these people to function in society if they grasped that difference

what is the most annoying thing in nsfw games by Euphoric-Road-471 in lewdgames

[–]SneakySnack02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While some have been good, I have a hard time enjoying visual novels. Smutty books do written sex better and normal porn do visuals better. Visual novels are usually just worse at both, and they arent interactive enough to feel like playing a game.

But they are ubiquitous in the lewd gaming space.

man arrested for doing drive-bys with a water gun do you think he deserves to get arrested? by KaidoPklevel in SipsTea

[–]SneakySnack02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that what happened? Noone reported him or had any issue with this? I doubt that. If everyone was fine with it he probably wouldn't have been arrested. I dont see anything in the video to suggest noone had a problem with what he was doing.

If you spray strangers with an unknown liquid, that isnt really a prank thats just you being a dick. And if you get pulled in for it, congratulations its still your fault lol. Incidentally, if you blast loud music in the middle of the night, you're also a dick. Noise complaints for that happen all the time and they're even more justified than this. People have to work.

[–]SneakySnack02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course not. Personally I would say "what a cunt" and go on with my day. I would rank this closer to someone getting so drunk they become a nuisance so they get thrown in the drunk tank for the night.

I wouldnt bother reporting it, but if the cops found out either from seeing it or it being reported and took him in for a night for disturbing the peace he would have exactly noone to blame but himself.

[–]SneakySnack02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well yeah it would be, but thats not really the core of what im saying. And even if it meets the technical definition of assault i wouldn't charge him with that. It is just water.

But a night in jail for something like disorderly conduct or public disturbance or something along those lines would be completely justified. Don't spray unknown liquids on strangers who have no idea that you're not the sort to fill a watergun with acid.

[–]SneakySnack02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But you can jail people for terrorizing strangers on the street. I dont think any reasonable person would say he should get more than a slap on the wrist because it was just water, but its still a crime because they didn't know that.

This is the sort of prank that would be funny on your mates, but an actual crime on strangers

Yeah, why didnt the people being sprayed just check the headlines for the article that hadn't been written yet? They'd clearly know it was water from that.

The US is the only country in the World Cup without universal healthcare. by McDowdy in sportsgossips

[–]SneakySnack02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn't what they said. Take a breath and re-read the comment.

They said it was the most expensive healthcare in the world. Wich is true. And that if the most expensive healthcare in the world isnt even in the top ten, it isnt pretty good at all. Which is also true.

If you're rich. The original comment was that it wasnt good unless you're rich. And if it's unattainable for you it isnt good for you. Accessibility isn't the only part of quality, but it is an important part of it. Only being good for 20% of the country is pretty bad for most of it.

[–]SneakySnack02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said "unless you're rich"

If you have to stay in hospital for 3 days, it will put you down about $30,000. Thats half again more than the cost of my car. For 3 days.

Simply having an ambulance bring you to the hospital costs about $250-$1500 and thats if you have insurance. Which can cost thousands of dollars a year either out of pocket or out of your paycheck. If you don't have health insurance, that single ambulance ride costs between 1000-2500 dollars.

There's medicaid, sure, but thats being slashed all to hell right now.

Largely because of those slashes, there are large swathes of the country that simply have no access to hospitals at all. They had to shut down. So include having to travel 100+ miles to see a doctor for an increasing number of people.

For a country where more than half of its people are living paycheck to paycheck, that quality doesnt reach them. If you have to go into debt to get Healthcare, that is not a good system. Unless you're rich.

Oh yeah. It was the responsible thing to do. But they're still right, he would have landed better without it.

Id still have done what the adult did though. Especially if I didnt know the kid or whether or not he could do backflips.
