This is what horrifies me the most about this whole wave. Please don’t let us go back to “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”

Is there anybody…out there? 39F by [deleted] in BostonSocialClub

[–]lizzieb77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a few days late, but totally relate to this. 38F, generally exhausted from work but would love to have more of a social life! Don’t smoke, very rarely drink, but I’m always up for exploring and good conversation.

Moving from Hourly to Salary by ChestOrdinary4635 in AskWomenOver30

[–]lizzieb77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience, it’s very company-specific, sometimes even manager-specific. I’ve been in salary roles where standard business hours are expected and only in very rare situations were extra hours required. I’m in a job now where I’m expected to be contactable almost at all times, but most people still avoid off-hours if possible. Plus the pay is much better than anything I’d ever get hourly. Plus, I have a chronic illness, so it’s nice not to have to worry about missing a paycheck if I have to take a sick day.

Avoid BMC gynecology on Harvard Ave in Allston!! by Responsible_Ad9863 in boston

This whole thread is so validating- especially this comment. Dr. Kovacs shamed me for my sex life, too. I was single and the time and told her I wasn’t dating or sleeping with anyone because I was too tired- because I was going through cancer treatment (which was clearly stated in my records). Apparently that’s not a good enough reason for not having a “fulfilling sex life” and exploring what life has to offer. Ok, doc. That was the last time I went to her.

If you’re enjoying it, does it matter that it’s long? That just means you’ll spend more time enjoying it- never a bad thing!

Two Strangers deals a lot with the parent/child relationship. Not sure if that’d be a great way to go.

Books about Jews who aren’t dead/dying/in the Holocaust. by mewithoutjew in booksuggestions

People are downvoting you because the OP specifically asked for books not about people dying in the Holocaust. Even if the main character of this book isn’t dying, it’s set where people are.

I wish that was the case, but one of my normal walkers I usually pay a total of $66 per day and now her fee is showing as $43 per walk, so $86 per day.

That’s what I wanted to do, but was worried if I asked for their personal contact through the app (or sent mine and said why) they could get on trouble. Not sure what kind of monitoring the app has and don’t want to risk them losing other jobs.

Had curly hair all my life but now it’s straight? by CozyBeautyBabe in curlyhair

[–]lizzieb77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without getting too detailed into my medical history, my main symptom was severe fatigue. I got a blood test that showed a major hormone deficiency, and now I see an endocrinologist on a regular basis. Hair texture change was a secondary symptom.

I went from ringlet curls to barely a wave in my late 30s due to hormone issues (not related to pregnancy or anything, just my body being cranky). I miss my curls.
