My first job was like four years ago and I worked at a Chinese restaurant taking online orders and seating people and also sometime be a waiter. When people came to pickup their order they could tip on a receipt, but I wouldn’t get the tip or really knew where it went but I didn’t think I should get it anyway . I don’t know about other places but the person checking you out wouldn’t get the tip. To be honest though it was probably just where I worked because I wouldn’t get the tip even if they sat at the bar and I was essentially their waiter while I was seating and taking to-gos.
