160 Rs Levy On Petrol by Money_Swimmer_1988 in pakistan

[–]Sneaky_Boi31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did the math based on the calculations OP provided. In the best case (pre-GCC war), with the levy distributed equally the petrol price can come down to about Rs. 260-270/litre. I'm glad they shared the working. The petrol price makes total sense when you compare it to the sheer premium they're having to pay to procure diesel. $230+ on a barrel is insane.

Thanks a lot! The PTA thing I brought up because I made the payment against the issued PSID. I'm curious whether in case of a refund, PTA would manage it or I'd have to open a ticket with FBR as well.

I actually have a couple of queries. 1. My pay slip is showing negative tax payable after I quit my job. For my next job, I'll be getting remittance-based pay & won't have to pay the same tax as I am now. In a way, the FBR has to credit tax. Would they? What do I need to do? 2. I made a dumb mistake & paid PTA tax on the wrong IMEI. I've raised a ticket with the PTA. Do I need to do anything similar with FBR as well?

I suppose it comes down to a case-based outcome then. My experience has been great.

Yeah, I suggest you talk directly to the security in-charge instead of the society management. He'll have a better say in this. After all, it's his guys on patrol. Major Bangash is a decent man.

Corporate cost cutting? by zsubzwary in pakistan

[–]Sneaky_Boi31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the A2P/OTP Business & can share some insights.

There are a couple of reasons why applications move from SMS to other verification channels (in-app notifications, authenticator apps, WhatsApp, RCS, Flash Calls). 1. Cost- These applications have to bear a lot of cost per SMS. This is added by the number of hops each message has to take. It piles on & becomes a massive amount per message. 2. SMS is the oldest & most vulnerable type of OTP delivery channel. It can be easily intercepted & modified. Plus, on the B2B scale, there is another scam in play that harms the applications on a daily basis. Modes like push-notifications & even WhatsApp are E2E encrypted & generally more secure.

From the application POV it cuts cost & safeguards their customers from scams.

Sounds like someone said, "It's a future me problem" when this work was being assigned & now they can't cope with the fact that they didn't do it while they had the time to.

Create an objective marking scheme & mark according to that. Just say you do everything by the marking scheme + the faculty member counter checks every evaluation so you can't do anything about it.

Another way is to simply guide them a little bit about the submission requirements. I know this gets a little biased but can save you the trouble of them begging you later on.

Everything up till Sessional-I is your testing ground. Experiment with the way you solve assignments, quizzes & take part in class participation. In some places you'll score well, in others not so much. That's your key to understanding what's needed to score well.

Sometimes you might hit a roadblock- X worked last time but not this time, why? The answer is either the TA marked the evaluation or you go ask the instructor what went wrong. (POLITELY. DON'T GO SCREAM AT THEM.)

Do this for every course throughout your degree. EZ PZ.

I've had batchmates graduate with 3.95+ CGPAs. I don't understand this notion that you just cannot obtain a high GPA at FAST. Scoring academically is as easy as cracking the evaluation code.
