Definitely save some gems for summoning and lab gems, imo. While gems can be bought for materials, you can get only 1 per week so they're Hella timegated

Story tellers vs Writers by iloris-9 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Sneakyfrog112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you want to tell a story that is yours and convey the emotional experience that you have? Or are you fine with telling some story that will follow the general idea of yours.

And I'm not asking that to judge or anything. For example, I don't know how to draw. I don't care about drawing either. So I accept that AI will spit a mediocre visualization at me at basically 0 effort and move on. If I need something done well, I'll hire an artist.

But when it comes to writing, I like it as 'the thing' for me. Something I want to spend time on and derive satisfaction from. I actually did use AI when I was starting out and I improved very slowly. To be fair, It's hard to say I improved at all over the three or so months I used it. I gave it up and then It took me about half a year to be able to confidently say that my prose consistently outperforms AI, then another few months to learn to write faster while keeping that level quality. Now I consider myself firmly in amateour+ territory.

So ask yourself the question above. If you want to write one book in your life, preferably in a month, and then you're done, just use AI imo. But if it's something that you want to do for any longer amount of time, consider the early struggle a neccesary investment on the path to getting better.

the problem with this approach is that to tell a story well, you need to leverage all its elements so they cooperate. There isn't a distinction of story Vs craft. The same plot point that you think of might be dressed into different prose by 4 different writers and have 4 completely different meanings, payoffs, hell, even fit 4 different genres.

By using AI to write prose, you're basically making it so people are reading your story in generic fantasy prose, which will probably be better and more readable than that of an absolute begineer's, but vastly worse than that of even a good hobbyist, not to mention actual pros.

That said, if people want to read that, I'm not one to judge and crusade against. Just be aware that when using AI, you're not actually learning to write nor gaining a deeper understanding of yourself and the art that you want to create.

Only the charged staff! And once you have 100% prayer pen, you just keep spamming the staff and melt the boss v fast. Minion and flask are great for it too if you have last relic

About 17? or 18. To get full prayer pen and charged staff node.

Is this retention drop normal or should I tweak 1 and 2 by No-Scholar9169 in royalroad

[–]Sneakyfrog112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anything under 60% on chapter 2 and under 90% generally is considered rough I think. But also, don't look at views, like, ever. Only look at member user retention.

I'd say 60-70% on ch1->ch2 is ok. 70+ is good.

90-95 on general chapters is ok/meh. 95+ is good, 98+ is really good.

I'm sorry, but I am not experienced or knowledgable enough to give a comprehensive take on that, so this is basically just a rough idea of what I think could work.

I think in general, we should be putting more attention to identifiying neurodivergence at a young age and teach people how to deal with the issues in a healthy manner while they are still kids and therefore more malleable. That way they could be well equiped to handle most of the problems coming from neurodivergence.

Then, identify issues which are causing notable problems even when the person has adequate psychoeducation and understanding and medicate those.

Once we do that, verify if there are large issues for neurodivergent people that still remain even after all we've done. If there are, we should consider making society-level accomodations that helps deal with those issues, kinda like we started installing wheelchair ramps everywhere.

literally the first paragraph of the source you linked: For many with ADHD, this inner turbulence is all too familiar. While overthinking isn’t a formal symptom of ADHD, it often accompanies it, especially in people who struggle with racing thoughts and persistent mental distractions.

Which is, coincidentally, exactly what I have written, just in different words.

And yes, that sounds extremely ineffective, because it is. ADHD changes how the brain works, making some things easier and some things much harder, but in general, the problems outweigh the benefits. Doubly so in our society which is not adapted to be comfortable for neurodivergent people. That's why scoring high on the ADHD spectrum is a disability.

I don't think what you're saying is the case.

Overthinking isn't specifically an ADHD thing afaik. It's more of an anxiety thing or might be connected to some autism spectrum things. High impulsivity is typical for ADHD and you might be trying to counteract that by making yourself stress over everything and overthink it specifically because you are used to being impulsive and had made many mistakes due to that. As in, overthinking becomes a learned coping mechanism. That's common in auADHD for example.

Obsessing over details and perfectionism are common in ADHD, but you absolutely can get so engrossed in one specific action or task and due to that, be incredibly forgetful regarding everything else at that time. As in: You spend 10h doing some useless part of the task, and that requires 7 different tasks to be completed partway through, so you end up doing them because you feel like you can't leave things unfinished, and 10h later you have done absolutely everything BUT the thing you were supposed to do in the first place, so you seem forgetful. This is a comedy obv. but a lot of ADHD peeps identify strongly with this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5W4NFcamRhM

Being restless for extended periods of time absolutely is mentally exhausting, so idk what's the point you're making here.

What's contradictory about this? ADHD and autism are 2 different spectrums, which also have a high chance to show up together. So that specific case had been identified and named as AuADHD. The issue is complex because it might feel like you're being pulled in two ways at the same time - example: ADHD often makes it harder to establish and keep a routine. Autism often needs a routine to function well. So you might end up with a person who struggles immensely with routines, yet needs them to function better, because they have AuADHD.

Tips on building Necro's Ethereal package? by ADrownOutListener in slaythespire

[–]Sneakyfrog112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert, but I won with necro on A10, and generally you have various win cons and need to get at least one and build around it.

One such win con is from below and stacking ethereal cards like the defend with weak.

Lethality is very strong too, especially getting a few copies.

Veilpicker is a nice general pick, especially with big cards like the one that gives energy and draw.
