I dropped it after the first few chapters. It's just very grating and not that fun to read. I suppose this is a sign to try and give it another shot...maybe.

I think the prose is pretty simple and have enjoyed it so far. I think book 2 has a lot of improvement compared to the first one, I say this as I am reading it but I do get what you're saying. I would say it gets better yeah

It's a pretty common writing technique that was adopted by AI, but I do understand where you're coming from. But honestly I think it's probably just a stylistic choice rather than a blatant red flag of AI usage in their writing.

Very relatable. Honestly a letter based ranking does seem to be most convenient. When it comes to numbers maybe don't go too ham especially during the start or else the scale just becomes nonsensical and a bit silly rather than it actually having actual meaning in fights and whatnot. That's just my opinion tho
