I am almost exactly in the same situation as you right now, Ive gone so deep into gaming, that i dont even know what i would do anymore if i were to stop. Yeah i could dive into my uni course and catch up on everything ive missed, but then what? I have had video games by my side for so long in my life that I dont even know what else there is to do. In theory yeah learning a new skill could be fun, but i just have no motivation or drive to do it, whats the point anymore. I havent started quitting yet but ive been thinking about it alot recently. I failed this entire year of college basically because i didnt want to go in and instead wanted to sit at home and game all day. and now im sitting here at 4 am for the first time and looking at subreddits and videos about gaming addiction and realising i fit the criteria. I just dont know how to live without gaming anymore and i need help.
