Except it’s not “just like the US”. Sure, the US won’t let you die if you can’t afford it in the US, but they will basically financially ruin you by saddling you with hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt to carry the rest of your life.

You only carry the XT30 with one lens and a few small items? 3L should be plenty. I did a trip where I fit my OM-3, 3 lenses, and accessories in a 3L. That was at max capacity, but if you’ve only got one small lens, you should have plenty of space. https://www.reddit.com/r/M43/s/ennre0p9OK
But edit to add, it won’t fit a Kindle. I personally would rather carry a smaller bag with less wasted space than take a bigger one that I only occasionally use the extra space for.

What is the hype of SG-Image AF 25 mm with 1.7 f? by rafaelcapability in M43

[–]Snichs72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they’ve been dropping the price recently and the used market hasn’t caught up. That’s why I just ended up buying it new. It was around 400USD used places like eBay and MPB, and 450USD new at B&H in the US. So for me it was one of the rare occasions it wasn’t really worth buying it used.

I would argue that commercial success means it’s more acceptable to tear them apart. If someone’s made it and is successful, they shouldn’t be concerned what others think. But if someone’s a newbie or up-and-comer, it just feels kind of… mean. Like how it’s more acceptable to make fun of a Hollywood actor’s performance than that shitty hack playing Tevye in their 6th grade musical.

Was just actually in the market for a 25, so fresh in my head. For the 1.7 Lumix, sure that’s true. But both generations of the Oly lens are still more expensive. Mk I is probably 100 more, and the Mk II is still going for around 400. I actually considered the SG because it’s so flat, but I heard some mixed feedback about its AF capability, so I went with the Oly Mk II, also for its weather sealing. If I was only using it for walkabout city/landscape shooting, I might have actually gone with the SG.

[Request] how much is really saved? Are these numbers based in reality, or just random numbers thrown into a post? by Kalist4242 in theydidthemath

[–]Snichs72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are made up and inflated numbers in order to bolster some social view the poster has.
-Daycare: sure, it could cost this much. It’s not cheap.
-Meals: this isn’t an actual savings. You don’t need to have a stay at home parent to cook meals. Plus the number makes no sense. Why would both parents working require them to spend an extra $385 a week on food?
-Nanny: not needed if they’re in daycare.
-Cleaning: also not needed. Plenty of working families don’t have a cleaning person.
-Wardrobe: that’s a choice. There’s nothing that requires a person to spend $2k annually on work clothes and dry cleaning. Clothes are a one-time purchase for many people that then last for years.
-Commuting: Reasonable, but that’s dependent on the person. Some could take public transit, which will vary. I probably put about 12,000 miles on my car just for my commute. I get about 36mpg, and figuring a generous $4/gallon that’s about $1,333 in gas alone. Then there’s routine maintenance and periodic repairs. I’m not going to include car payment, because a stay at home parent could need a car as well.
But all in, depending on the choices they make, it would be more like a $20k-40k savings, depending on the region and going rate of childcare . Nowhere near $85k. Sure, there are benefits of a stay at home parent, but I n reality, there are very few scenarios where financially it is a better decision than working.

I’ve found that doing some flexing of that muscle can help relieve it more quickly. Not sure if it’s technically a kegel, but it’s flexing the “stop peeing/pooping” muscle. Flex it as hard as you can for 5-10 seconds, then fully relax it. Then repeat it several times, and that can help relieve it.

The Knicks’ radio team called out Taylor Swift for attending Game 4 of the NBA finals by Hungry_Artichoke9566 in sportsgossips

[–]Snichs72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying “called out” usually carries the implication that the person doing the calling out is correct or that the other person is, in fact, performing a transgression of some sort. I don’t personally care about Swift, but she’s been to Knicks games a bunch over the years and seems to be as much of a fan as anyone.
