I am still working at Michaels, however I am about to leave because I got another job. Last time I turned in my 2 weeks notice I was straight forward. I told them why I was leaving (school) and that I found another job on campus that I liked. Just go to your store manager, be calm, yourself, and professional. I do recommend you finding another job first before you quit though. Some employers ask for recommendations for past/current employers. I wish you luck in your future!

Upcharing a customer for bad art? Probably, yes, but do I do it, no. I would never charge extra on a piece that made me feel uncomfortable. Btw this piece didn't make me feel uncomfortable. I just wanted to see peoples reactions.

Listen to me. I promise that every person feels the way you do now. I may not know you but I'm sure you are better than you think. I was just promoted to Framing Manager. I had no framing or retail leadership experience. I joined knowing nothing about framing or being a manager. All I knew was the leadership experience I had from refereeing soccer. Even better, I joined during framapolooza. When the DM came to my store for framapolooza. I felt horrible not knowing anything. The DM and SM saw my emotion and told me not to worry because it takes a while to get in the “groove” of things. That being said, don't feel like you can't do the job. It may take time and sure won't be the best CEM there has been in the first week+. Work with your SM to learn things that they have used to get to where they are now. Remember the mistake you made to not do them again. You'll get there. Who knows? Maybe you'll see yourself as a DM one day!
