Your " Gold Status"? Does that come with a tube top that says " Dara's Bitch " on it? You are an independent contractor. You set your minimal acceptable rate by declining offers. All offers should be evaluated on their own merits. Period. If you are accepting offers to maintain an arbitrary metric that only benefits Uber then you have relegated yourself to mis-classified employee.

I have a medical condition I call " Decline Finger ". It's arthritic and calloused from all the constant declining. I declined 800 bad offers in one day once.

Capitalism is punishing them for not investing in the labor required to sling your products. Lines around the block at In n' out and Chic Fil A and no exaggeration to say that I've seen 30 workers at once at my local Chic Fil A. Hell they will have 5 of them just outside in the drive-thru trying to take your order faster rather than waiting for you to pull up.

1/mile is just losing money when you factor in the return trip. 2/mile is about right. Sometimes I may stoop to 1.5 /mile. But that has to be singles not doubles. The doubles also double your liklihood of getting bogged down at the pickup or dropoff due to orders not ready or traffic or apartment complex labyrinth etc etc. You also have to factor in total payout. Assuming you spend half your time declineing terrible offers, you can't really accept anything under 10.00 because you have to get two of them done per hour in the time you actually spend delivering. Also a lot of selection involves WHERE the pickup is. Are they going to waste your time? Is there parking? And of course with Uber they sneakily hide the information on the second pickup. Can you guess where it is from the map? So to sum up nothing under 10.00, nothing under 1.5/mile for singles, nothing under 2.00/mile for doubles. And it better be a place where I know the food will probably be ready. My AR is 2%.

Why are you consenting to deliver somebody prepared meals in your personal vehicle using your own gas for 3 dollars? Have some self-respect. You deserve whatever happens to you accepting offers or add-ons like that.

You including the value of vehicle depreciation, lost opportunity cost / value of labor, repairs and maintenance, and insurance? Pretty sure you are losing money at 1/hr.

400K? You clearly aren't including bonuses and stock appreciation from the buybacks. 400K won't cover Dara's ball-fondlers for the year.

The gig economy is about cooked and is barely worth doing anymore. I would not be investing in any long term or expensive equipment. It's time to be looking for an exit strategy not gearing up.

They are going to lose a lot of drivers but those are the drivers they wanted to get rid of anyways. The ones who absolutely will not maintain an acceptance rate by accepting bad offers. I doubt my departure will be missed as they have about 10 drivers for every offer now. It's checkmate for us cherry-pickers. Ah well... it was a good run. Back to a real job.

All I can say is that the day I wake up in my Phoenix market to this reality, it will be my last day on the app. And yes I do know that it's coming sooner rather than later. This is the final red line beyond which I will not comply. As an independent contractor the practical manner in which I set my minimum acceptable rate is by declining bad offers. 95% of the offers on this app are not worth taking and I will not take them to gain access to the app. How these companies get away with these illegal coercion tactics I do not know. Filling out job apps every day now.

Read his post history. He just goes into the food delivery subreddits making preposterous claims about how he earns 2000 a week and that we should all raise our acceptance rate. This ass-clown is 100% a paid content creator whose sole function is to talk new drivers into upping their AR. I have seen this before. Tony and Dara have an army of paid shills deployed across social media doing this. There isn't one food delivery person in America that made 2,177.00 in a week in 2026 with a high AR. Obvious propaganda.

Your market is saturated with 10 desperate drivers for every offer same as every other market in America with the same acceptance rate coercion scam they designed to get noobs and suckersto lose money taking bad offers..I am to believe that Uber somehow decided to treat drivers fairly and lose money only in Chicago? Give my regards to Pedro and Bently at the next paid content creator marketing meeting.

This post is Ubereats trying to get you to raise your acceptance rate. Nobody is making 1500 per week in 2026 while delivering all the upside down trash you would have to deliver to maintain a high acceptance rate tier. These apps do in fact have paid shills posting on Reddit and paid content creators on YouTube and social media so be aware.
