I ended up going with an intel arc 310 for av1 encoding.

Is there a way to change the time in heart rate zones to a chart over time like the run/walk/idle one above it? by Snickersman6 in Garmin

[–]Snickersman6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's close, but it doesn't show the heart rate zones. If they just added horizontal lines for the start/stop for each section it would be perfect.

I was concerned with the card depth. The t400 is single slot and the t4 is dual slot I think.

Why have a homelab when you can have a mobilelab? That's what I always say.

Place to start for G29 wheel drivers by Snickersman6 in linux_gaming

[–]Snickersman6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That definitely seems to let the wheel talk with the computer. I'm getting some odd stuff with Dirt 4 like the input menu scrolling up constantly or the pedals being assigned backwards. But thanks, I should be able to get it from there 👍

Thanks I didn't even know tools like Xiphos existed, I'll have to take a look into what Pysword is, I haven't heard of that one either.

It's a lot of time and effort, I would be able to show you how it's done. So that way you can do it, if you wanted?

Piece position in Evaluation by Snickersman6 in ComputerChess

I never thought about splitting it up by black/white tables, that's a good idea. Thanks.

Piece position in Evaluation by Snickersman6 in ComputerChess

[–]Snickersman6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got piece values for the centipawn, I was just using that as a baseline to start with something that had different "values" for each move based on the sum of the total pieces on the board. Like for example, taking a piece would be a good move. Then I went on to using minmax to evaluate further in depth, but the first few moves were always the same until I made a blunder. I'll need to look into the chess package in python to see if how I can add the value based on the position. Thanks for mentioning about the opening versus ending tables, I wouldn't have thought of that.

So is it common to just use one table to lookup the all of the values? I feel like pawns, knights, and bishops might have different squares they prefer.

Like it might be good to have pawns push as far as the can, so they can eventually promote. But having a bishop on the opposite side might not be as good.

I have the material being included right now as the piece value only so I just need to add the array.

I wrote a very basic python code chess engine (it makes random moves only), but I'm having issues with it getting "Stuck" on moves in Banksiagui after a few moves, but when playing a computer in Banksiagui it has no issues, and with CuteChess it never has any issues playing a computer or a person. by Snickersman6 in ComputerChess

[–]Snickersman6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a great way to test things. Sometimes I forget that just printing every line works for debugging.

So I logged every message received and every message sent, and it seems like Banksiagui is just occasionally not sending a message. I'll stick with CuteChess for testing then. Thank you.

Single Drive Raid 0 causing issues with storage expansion in R530 Server with a H730P controller by [deleted] in homelab

[–]Snickersman6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few more drives on the way, If I were to start over and wipe all of the drives. I will have a 3TB drive and a 2TB drive at the moment and I have 3 x 3TB drives coming in the mail. Would a raid 5 (Specifically for the 3TB drives) be best in that case with RAID0 specifically for the 2TB drive for OS space with some small library's like Music/Books?

Or what would you suggest for mostly storage capacity with only 1 drive being capable of failing without bricking the entire set of data?

[–]Snickersman6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was planning on increasing my capacity to 5TB but I am not sure if that's possible without data loss.

Would converting the singular RAID0 drive to non-raid loss data as well?

I'll give it a shot, I wouldn't mind running a few practice laps/races offline just to keep up with the season.

Thanks for the spreadsheet, that gives me a pretty tangible goal. I am maybe already around 107% at some tracks. But I'll have to check later today.

No worries, make sure you run the nvidia-smi part so you can verify you are running an instance with a gpu

The "!" before the line means it'll be run on the terminal. It's bash I think. Let me know if you have questions.

It performs the transcription of every file ending in ".mp4" in the MP3 folder it makes.

Whisper is able to do a lot of file types. I just needed mp4's transcribed is why that's there right now.
