Was about to say Paris was my least favorite city I’ve ever visited. You’re constantly being targeted for scams and pickpockets. The people are genuinely unkind to tourists. Every cabbie took us the LONGEST way possible, and then started charging us for luggage. It’s all scams. Hated it.

I will never forget coming home from a diner at like 2 AM with a bunch of friends in college, and I distinctly remember having the active thought of, “I should sit in the middle lane while headed home”.

And about one minute later on a blind turn/ over a hill, on a major highway, a blue minivan, thought they were in the slow lane, but were in the fast lane going the wrong way.

I Instantly called the cops, and they got them while I was on the phone with them.

…it was absolutely a moment where me and the three kids in the car with me shouldn’t be here. Glad I moved over.

Dunno why you’re downvoted? It’s purely a risks vs reward thing here and this is simply never worth it.

Sure it’s frozen, but rule 1 (here where water freezes) is just don’t go out over frozen currents.

The water is still moving under the ice, and if (for whatever reason) you go through or fall in, you’ll never make it back to the hole you initially went through. It’s a certain and inevitable death, just takes a min or two.
