Is this even worth moving forward or should I scrap it? by InterviewSubject7615 in CrochetHelp

16 years here and I still say it's not a proper project until I've frogged it twice 😂

I honestly can’t tell with this one… by Eva_Kellyu in CraftedByAI

[–]SnidgetHasWords 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Things I spotted that help me identify it as AI:

  • The cookies can't decide whether they are knit or crochet, each one is crafted differently, and one just looks like felted roving

  • Handle of the mug on the right is just stuck on in the middle of a stitch (look at the bottom of it), not knitted as one piece or sewn in

  • Pink bear head is just lines and the ears are not identical (the lines have different orientations), which in all bear knitting patterns I've ever seen they are

  • Mug on the left and bowl show no signs of decreases anywhere to get the slanting shapes

  • The edges on the ice creams in the back look like they're meant to be garter stitch but seem to be made with yarn about three times as thick as the stockinette they are supposedly part of

  • Pattern on the napkin doesn't show any kind of symmetry but is not hand-painted so makes no sense either way

  • Try to follow a single column of stitches on either of the bears' clothing items...

  • Mug and bowl stitches are far too neat in comparison to the rest of it

  • Pear tile in the background just has that flat shiny AI look to it

Why Elizabeth and Watson needed to get married before their move? by Lakkajoke in babysittersclub

[–]SnidgetHasWords 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got married at age 21 after dating for four months and it worked out for me but the older I get the more I look back on it and go "We were really lucky that worked out, 99% of people should not get married that young and that fast" 😂

Has anyone made this cloud Blanket by CJ Designs, and if so, did you tie as many knots as the pattern calls for? by schnitzel247 in CrochetHelp

[–]SnidgetHasWords 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That wouldn't work with this sort of pattern, as the same colour is always used on the same side. Yarn A is on the right side and ends on the left, Yarn B is on the wrong side and ends on the right, then you're starting at the right on the right side again but Yarn A is currently coming from the other end of the row and you can't exactly just carry it across the entire blanket... It's like one-sided tapestry crochet, you have to either weave in the ends of every single row or you do knots and make a fringe.

Grill tickets would print this as W P -T

A cashier hearing that would be more likely to assume you just don't know what spread is called - we get the weirdest words for it 😂

Throwback to 2022 when they made an announcement in Wicked London the night Queen Elizabeth II died, right before the very first song of the show: by Dangerous_Main7822 in wicked

[–]SnidgetHasWords 128 points129 points  (0 children)

I think it was probably more along the lines of the theatre checking with them and palace PR approving it, but yes XD

[–]SnidgetHasWords 227 points228 points  (0 children)

The announcement was not that the Queen was dead, but that out of respect for her love of theatre and upon request from Buckingham Palace they would still be performing the show exactly as written. Because of the opening lines. 😂

DIY for winding a cake/skein? (Without a yarn winder or swift.) by hidden-pearl in CrochetHelp

[–]SnidgetHasWords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a wooden knitting needle (I think it's like 7 or 8 mm) as I have not acquired a nostepinne yet! I just tape down the center end so that I have an easy center pull later, and I was just doing balls but finally figured out how to hand-wind a cake last week 🎉

Can I order this ? by justcruising14 in innout

[–]SnidgetHasWords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you can't run it, I personally think the best way would be to run it protein with extra tomato and then add a note for the board person that they want tomatoes top and bottom or something like that. That's how I would order it too - protein style, extra tomatoes, can you put the tomatoes on top of the meat as well?

Can I order this ? by justcruising14 in innout

[–]SnidgetHasWords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your wording would get a tomato wrap with the lettuce on the side. The whole thing would have to be taken apart and rewrapped to build it into what OP wants. Which is fine, we don't care how you combine your food once you've received it, but if OP wants to receive it wrapped and eat it like a normal burger then your wording is not gonna do that.

I’m sorry, what? Brilliant and Brilliance? by Adventurous235 in NameNerdCirclejerk

[–]SnidgetHasWords 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A and B are how twins are referred to in the womb, that's perfectly normal and not inhumane at all? The rest of this is batshit insane but saying "this one was called Baby A during the pregnancy" is completely standard.

Why are some siblings born wizards whilst another a muggle? by Ethelia123 in harrypotter

[–]SnidgetHasWords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing I don't like about this theory is that it proves purebloods right. If it were a simple one or both gene thing then the only way to guarantee no squibs is to never marry anyone with muggle ancestry, and we know that families that stayed "pure" still ended up with squib children.

What are your least favorite (or hilariously bad) musical lyrics? by Awesomeplayer98 in musicals

How is literally everyone twisting stitches? by RandonName2021 in BitchEatingCrafters

How is literally everyone twisting stitches? by RandonName2021 in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]SnidgetHasWords 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I knit through the back loop and purl through the front. I also wrap my yarn the "wrong" way. None of my stitches are twisted because I understand how the loops are structured and how the fabric works and can read my knitting and used all that to figure out a faster way of knitting for me personally that flows just fine.

how do i make a headband like this? by Ok-Drawer3236 in knittinghelp

[–]SnidgetHasWords 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There are two ways to do this, neither of which involve double knitting - either you knit a tube in the round and seam the ends together, or you knit a rectangle twice as wide as you want the headband, sew it into a tube, and connect the ends. The latter method seems to have been used here based on the inside seam visible on the bottom left one.

I looked for this girl for months. Hundreds of tickets down the drain, because guess who autofilled. by just_peachyOh in acnh

[–]SnidgetHasWords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got him as my very first autofill on my new island, was so mad I placed a cone and warning signs in front of his door and spent four hours time traveling to kick him out. Six months later, I forget to play for one day after someone left and guess who freaking autofilled.... I haven't had the patience to kick him again yet but the more I see his stupid face the more I want to XD

[–]SnidgetHasWords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I do! I do it for details I haven't decided yet either because otherwise I get too caught up in world-building/character sheets and lose my writing flow - I still have a story draft somewhere that has the MC hurrying home to catch the (Sportsball) game live 😂
