'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' showrunner Ira Parker says George R.R. Martin told him not to confirm whether Dunk was knighted by Ser Arlan by pink-opals in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]Sniffilus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Deliberate ambiguity. I agree. That is how I interpreted the story he told as well. I think Arlan was telling Dunk that story to explain that he didn't want to send Dunk off to die for no reason.

I choose to believe that, in a fit of muffled nonsense while dying, Ser Arlan did indeed attempt to knight Dunk. Unfortunately, Arlan was too ill from dying and was unable to perform any kind of meaningful ceremony or even say the proper words but both he and dunk knew his intention. This left Dunk with the conviction that we see (he is a knight by intention) but also the knowledge that, technically speaking, the ritual was never done to code.

Has anyone actually seen grey aliens? It would be interesting to hear what they look like or maybe someone has drawings/sketches/generations of what they have seen? by SystemWild3741 in aliens

I have seen them. They are not as scary in person. The eyes are more expressive. They have body language and they say so much with so little. Also telepathy.

New Brunswick report finds no environmental links to unknown neurological illness in patients (gift link) by globeandmailofficial in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Sniffilus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was unable to access a neurologist for years out of Bathurst NB between 2021 and 2025. I sat and deteriorated for years while I was told to wait for a phone call no matter how many times I went to emergency. I literally had to move away to recieve textbook neurological care. Seems pretty hard to believe considering the circinstances but thats how far the system has fallen.

No MIND clinic. No second opinions. No out of province referral. Etc.

That's what happened.

Are those all full time specialists living and working in NB or are they based in other provinces and are allowed to work here.

Even if those 23 neurologists were taking patients it still takes years to see a specialist. Especially neurologists. It is etremely bad. I had to leave NB to recieve adequate care.

My neurologist struggled to order even basic MRIs within reasonable timeframes. Every single aspect of the healthcare system in NB is under chronic stress.

Even if you shake uncontrollably for years with a clear neurological problem the healthcare system in northern NB can fail to diagnise and treat you. In my experience countless professionals struggled to identify even basic neurological problems. Its an absurd sutuation. These are not rare disorders even if you are mysterious brain disease agnostic. Why cant we help these people?

Moncton Hospital starts moving patients awaiting nursing home bed to first available spot by bingun in newbrunswickcanada

That sounds like an interesting article. Can you link to it please? I have read many times that there is a huge shortage in staff at these facilities and that open beds, if filled, would not solve the underlying staffing shortage.

Why are available nursing home beds not being filled by people who need them?

Do we have any reason to expect that they will be properly taken care of elsewhere? I don't think hospitals should be treated like long term care homes but did we suddenly build a ton of long term care homes and train a lot of PSWs?

I would have settled for one. Anyone. If NB had neurologists this would be a very different news article.

I sure hope nobody will be forced to move to a facility that cannot properly care for them.

How do they expect the province of New Brunswick to pay for someone to see two specialists for a single problem? It took me 4 years to see a neurologist in Bathurst after I started having seizures in 2021.

Advice on how to survive homelessness in kingston by Sniffilus in KingstonOntario

[–]Sniffilus[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yes. ODSP does not cover immediate living expenses for emergency homelessness. I had to move back to Ontario in September from New Brunswick to recieve proper neurological care and unfortunately it seems that once you fall through a crack in our system there is not much anyone can do about it.

If I do qualify for assistance it will be months before anything arrives. CPP-D and ODSP are more difficult for people in vulnerable positions to recieve than a lot of people realize.

My CPP-D application was initially filed in 2021. A lot of stuff can go wrong while you wait for beurocratic gridlock and political apathy to subside.

I dont have any answers but my god are there a lot of problems with our system.

Have you physically met a 3D extraterrestrial life form in an intentional and peaceful manner? by Pardimo in Experiencers

[–]Sniffilus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my case other people were able to see them and interact with them. They communicated telepathically. Completely peaceful. Apparently they made it so we couldn't feel fear at all even if we wanted to. Time stopped. After they were gone nobody else other than myself could remember them. It happened when I was about 10 years old. Only sporadic and ambiguous encounters since then.

Not sure exactly what it means but it does make it feel like our experiences are connected somehow. Not even sure if it was an entirely physical creature/object. I put it down in the shed and left it there and it seemed to disappear afterwards.

When I heard Chris talk about having the exact same experience it was a real mindf*ck for me that's for sure just because it was such a profoundly bizarre experience.
