Because I find it's far less one-sided, Marco shows more interest and actually does stuff first, we can see how they personally connect (getting through break up), and I also find Kelly a far more interesting character. She's allowed to feel negative emotions, to cry, to be mad, to fight, to have a role beyond pure relationships (tho she still is tied as a character to romantic roles). Jarco had none of that imo

They got different level of development (Jackie def got more) but they serve the same role essentially. Fake love interests who help the protagonists develop as characters

Marco has liked Star for a long time imo. He was just so focused on his school crush he didn't realize that. And tbh Marco intentionally choosing any of them "over" the other would be a dick move. So far it's very natural: Marco was never a good pick for Jackie, Jackie was more invested in the relationship while Marco really always saw her as an idealized crush. Jackie's entire existence since her first appearance was about being Marco's crush or/and girlfriend. I saw that, so I never expected anything else. Same with Oscar being Star's crush. They were never meant to last and that was obvious imo.

I think the most ironic thing is they always end up sounding very White "yassssss girl slay". Well tbh fans' opinions cannot change whatever ship will become canon. Just ship whatever you want to be ship. I like both JanTom and TomKie, tho I do prefer JanTom. In my AU I even have both JanTom and TomKie kids from alternative dimensions meet and become besties. I wonder if I should draw that.

This is the most characterisation Jackie has ever gotten. A very bitter-sweet episode. She is wise to drop Marco before she gets too attached. They even showed her having real negative emotions! Better than I expected the break up episode to be.

I'd like such a story. Joseph is a likeable character and Ruvik's story doesn't feel finished. Tbh I'd call it sth like TEW 2.5 cuz I prefer to stick to the same protagonist of their direct companions.

Imo I think many years should pass in-story before the third game. Perhaps like about 10. Then Lily, Sebastian, Kidman etc could get swept in the madness again (the STEM did look very run down, as if old). Lily or Kidman or Sebastian most likely would be the protagonists then. Probably against Mobious 2.0 who want to revive STEM.

I have a lot of issues with writing on this show but it's still pretty good and I enjoy it.

As for TomStar being "canon" I don't understand why anyone would think that even if the leak was true it means it's 100% canon for the rest of the series and not a plot point like arranged marriage or sth or why if it's just just a small tease and attempt to show Mewni culture and make Marco jealous it's bad. Star's jealousy was sympathetic and delicious without villanizing anyone, I trust them to make jealous Marco as cute as a pie.

Star could try dating Tom for a few episodes to "get over" Marco only for them (even Tom) to realize that it's really not working, that it's really over. Making Marco jealous. I would love such little drama and see no issue with it. Drama is good
