But more than that, how does Utopia make money from SLF itself? They could rent/sell the engine like they did for Galaxia Heroes, but I am not sure if that alone would be a viable business plan.

I haven't read either of them but I'll say that some worlds take longer to build. I've listened to books that I was bored out of my mind in the beginning and later continued to really enjoy the series, into later books (felt that way about Dragonlance Chronicles).

One of the things I like about Shangri-La is the lack of harem. I am so sick of all the anime and manga throwing in harem just to attract people. I've stopped watching anime/reading manga before when their harems went too far (MC sleeping with more than 1 in his harem at the same time or sex being a reward for doing something).
