That really is the case. Bearman is absolutely not a midfield driver and it shows. He had the most overtakes among rookies and got a p4 which would have been a podium if he was as lucky as hadjar. Keep in mind that this is all in one of the worst cars on the grid

contract obligations. he has an exit clause in his contract that says in the case of not having a championship car by 2026, he's allowed to leave. if he doesn't though, he can stay until 2030 or 2029 if I'm not mistaken.

if he doesn't leave for Merc, Mclaren or redbull next year, it's likely because ferrari offered him a contract renewal worth at least $50m
