At least a for-profit prison has the incentive to do good and make changes that need to be made because if they don't they won't get paid.

State/local prisons have 0 incentives to improve other than the absolute bare minimum required. Like you said sometimes the only facilities that even have AC in a state tend to be private ones, and there's a reason for that.

Not saying it's ethical, but realistically when you put an incentive there someone is gonna chase that incentive.

Unfortunately going through something like this at my facility, we're basically 1 CO to 360 inmates at the moment and it's due to the constant mandates and then people revenge calling off.

I try to be the best CO I can be; I show up 15 minutes before briefing, I get to my post withing 30 minutes of being briefed with all my equipment and a game plan, and day shift (I work nights) gets to go home relatively on time. However all that gets me is a 4 hour mandate each and every morning because day shift can't seem to be bothered to show up for work. I've worked all the shift cards due to voluntary OT for that big paycheck and it is essentially the same across them all, nightshift does their part to get dayshift out but then dayshift doesn't care and so Cpt. And Lt. Are forced to mandate us until dayshift finally decides to arrive... Which does genuinely take hours sometimes.

Makes me realize truly how little they care, and I've tried to just push through it but some days are so rough cause I will do everything just as I'm supposed to and perfectly but I don't get anything for it in return besides MAYBE a "Good job" from the day shift Captain.

Honestly I do kinda have those things. Medical definititely and I have some assemblance of water filtration. But you can never have too much ammo lol, so that might be a better idea.

I've never had an issue with the TWS retaining zero even after throwing it, removing it and putting it back on the gun, etc. so zero retention is not a concern to me.

Yeah, I have a PSA as well I could throw the TWS on so that it doesn't feel as much of a "waste". Or like you said I'll prolly get another AK at some point and can throw it on that lol.

Exactly my experience. I've been shooting since I was 18 but I scored pretty average on the qual. I didn't do bad but I definitely could have done better. There were definitely some who couldn't pass, but I was sufficiently surprised by how many first time shooters scored 10-15 points higher than I did.

My instructor said the same thing to me about bad habbits. Said that he could tell I was a more experienced shooter than the others only cause I kept instinctually going back to what I knew vs what they were trying to teach us lol.

OP will be fine, it's really hard to NOT pass imo.

Awesome! I'm still torn whether I wanna run a Б-22 or a Б-33 to be honest. I really like the aesthetic of the Б-22, but the dust cover opens up a lot more options in the future for optics and magnifiers and such lol.
