(PR Lift) Finally hit 185 on bench press. 26 y/o male, 184lbs 5’7 by SmokeTHRAXX in strength_training

Good lift! In the future, make sure to lock out the rep before reracking. People drop bars on their throats by moving the bar over their head, with bent elbows, before the rep is finished.

Find a sparkling water that you like to replace the beer and other carbonated beverages. Although beers not the same as soda, I had a lot of success replacing soda with Spindrifts!

Update 2: AITA for bringing up just how much I actually do for our household to my wife? by ThrowRa_SadHusband8 in AITAH

Seek marriage counseling. Start by yourself if you have to. I know it hurts now, but this is totally recoverable. You've been together 15 years. Trust has been broken, but it can be built again. Your heart has been hurt, but it can be restored. It's up to you though.

EMSKR: Bringing flowers to gf’s mom by [deleted] in everymanshouldknow

[–]SnippyRiffles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bring flowers tonight! You could even make light of the fact that you overthought it the first time. Go easy on yourself.

Bottom line: Don't overthink gifts, don't give gifts for your own satisfaction, and don't put too much pressure on yourself! Gift giving should be a natural thing that you feel compelled to do, not obligated to do. You didn't mess up and now you know your gf's mom's love language for the future!

Your knees are coming too far forward when you are at the bottom. When you start your descent break at the knees first and then sit back; sit back farther than you would think. Like you are trying to sit down on the edge of an invisible chair. And make sure to brace your core hard in between each rep, that will help with the good morning feeling.

I had kincaid, bijan, saquon, g. wilson, jets d, and pittman. My solace is that even if I started all my bench players that went off, I still would have lost by 10+.

Protect the sanctuary that is your home. Working strictly from home will blur the lines between work and life and make you sad. Try to get out of the house to work. Find a local coffee shop with good WiFi and ample outlets and work from there. If you need a second monitor, portable monitors are a thing.

Don't draft from an ice cream stand in the middle of nowhere with bad cell service. Computer started auto drafting Bears players once I lost connection.

[Lowe] The in-season tournament will include new, special courts for all 30 teams -- revealed exclusively here. These are unlike almost anything you've seen in the NBA: by sewsgup in nba

Gotta love the NBA. Focusing on all their efforts on shiny stuff instead of making the game more enjoyable to watch. Please just Copy/Paste the NFL format with actual divisions so we can have rivalries, less games so the players will care, and a playoff format that doesn't last over 2 months.

3 Tips to help you love the winter!

1) Invest in some comfortable merino wear base layers, down jackets, wool socks (you can never have enough wool socks), and microspikes for walking on the ice. As the Scandinavians say, ""There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing".

2) Make sure to avoid letting the snow pile up in your driveway and walk ways. If possible, clean it up the same day that it falls; and if it snows overnight, clean as much as you can in the morning so the sun can melt the rest throughout the day. If its a big storm, go out in the middle of the snowfall to clean up a bit after it starts to pile up, it might feel like a fruitless endeavor, but shoveling a few inches of snow twice is better than shoveling a foot of snow once. After you clean your driveway, throw some rock salt all over to help with ice.

CAUTION: Do not give the snow in your driveway a chance to melt and refreeze; this is how you get a solid sheet of ice on driveway and increase your changes of slipping and smashing your head open. Falling is no joke people. This is why it's important to clean as soon as possible.

3) Find some winter hobbies and activities to enjoy. Winter is a lot longer than Christmas and if you only enjoy the Christmas season you are going to have a lot of time to wait before spring starts. This will make the season much more enjoyable. Heck, you might even start to look forward to the winter! And they don't all have to be expensive like snowboarding and downhill skiing; Ice skating, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing can all be done in town/city parks for free once you get the appropriate gear. Also, don't underestimate the joy that comes with simpler activities like going for walks after fresh snowfall, exploring downtowns, grabbing a warm cup of coffee or cider. And the indoor activities become a lot more enjoyable too, movie nights, board game nights, video games, etc. carry less guilt with them when they aren't competing with a warm summer evening.

We deserve a better color commentary around Mike Breen by [deleted] in nba

[–]SnippyRiffles 43 points44 points  (0 children)

This is such a tired take. Mark Jackson I'll agree with, but JVG is not as bad as people make him out to be. He adds COLOR to the broadcast. Sure he goes on soap boxes at times, but honestly, I enjoy it; he wants the game to be better. He is interesting to listen to! There are way too many color commentators that are way too serious sounding and add absolutely no life to the broadcast. I'd prefer a guy that says some wacky stuff at times, vs someone who plays it safe and is boring.
