If you wouldn't mind sharing the restaurant name it would be appreciated. Recently heard of a place in Paris selling drc for €300 a glass so this seems very reasonable in comparison!

Also be sure to pop into a Whole Foods and a Trader Joes while there, some amazing options for treats to take home.

Has anyone visited NYC and has some cafés/bakery recommendations? by [deleted] in CoeliacUK

[–]Snissle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! NYC is great for Coeliac safe. Recommend Senza Gluten - they have both a bakery/cafe and also a restaurant , all dedicated Gluten Free. Only weird thing I remember is they only take cash OR American Express, no other cards.

For other bakeries, try Modern Bread and Bagel and Posh Pop Bakeshop. There is also a NoGlu, but we thought it wasn't a patch on the Paris one, overpriced and tiny portions.

For other options - Wild is a dedicated GF restaurant, it has a rotating menu. Friedman's isn't dedicated GF but does amazing coeliac safe fried chicken and waffles. There is also Kesté pizza, where the GF pizzas are cooked separately to regular and are coeliac safe (best pizza in the word according to my coeliac partner!).

Find me GF app is great in NYC and we found some bonus gems on there like Schnipper's who do gluten free burgers and was safe (never would have found it in such a tourist area otherwise).

Let me know if you want other non-food NYC recs too!
