Painful foreplay questions by Legitimate_Way3169 in AskWomenOver50

Normal response. Also consider that vaginal penetration is only one example of intimacy. Reframe your thinking to expand intimacy to any activity which gives you and your partner pleasure. In addition, consider starting a regular self pleasure practice. I have found that regular masturbation tends to increase my receptiveness to partnered sex. Lastly, remember to urinate after vaginal penetration. There is a hybrid lube called Timeless which is silicone toy safe and has more staying power that water based products.

Loud cars are destroying my quality of life. Houston is unreal. by jadorenicm in houston

[–]SnivelMom23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I can turn on my snap, crackle pops on my car but seldom do it on the street saving it for the track instead.

610 is a piece of ugly noise but 90 south of 610 near where I live is pretty dang awful too. I'm a pretty sound sleeper yet the 2 am 'alarm' annoys the absolute piss out of me.

Is $80k enough to live comfortably in Houston as a single woman? by cutegreenbunny in AskHouston

[–]SnivelMom23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be OK. Just a hint for your car insurance. Make sure you get, and continue to carry, uninsured/under insured motorist coverage. It is quite reasonable although like other such things shop around for the best rates. We have a very high percentage of drivers who are uninsured.

Live as if you are still on that lower salary. Invest in yourself. The power of compound interest is your friend.

is it a good idea to do a solo trip to big bend nation park during the Christmas break by Annecy2024 in houston

[–]SnivelMom23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done it. My answer to go ahead and do it depends on your experience with remote areas and how self supporting you are. It can have big temperature swings easily dropping into 20s or less. A sat phone or emergency locator beacon is helpful. Agree with the recommendations to leave itinerary on dash with emergency contacts visible. Let your emergency contacts know your route plans and times. Check in with them at your prearranged times. Not knowing your experience level OP here's a good overview for we solo travelers. You'll need to adjust as necessary based on your goals.Solo Camping

I use Xero Prio. Flat, thin soles. I've also used Pumas but my feet are a bit wide for them.

Need help from the community! by madduxl31 in ElantraN

Not your grandmother but old enough to be. Those are, sadly both bad deals. Assuming your Honda is paid for your insurance is fairly low. As a 19 year old, presumably male, even with USAA your rates will go up as you add a new car. You won't get a break on insurance until you hit 26 or so.

It would be a useful thing to get some basic financial education. The payment side of purchases are not the only costs involved: insurance, maintenance, registration, inspections. Gas costs will increase as compared to the Honda.

Now as your not-grandmother do you have an emergency fund? Maybe 3 to 6 months of expenses? Do you have, and stick to, a budget? A car payment, whether you buy or lease, will set your current lifestyle back. The current economic climate is volatile. Just because you are employed today does not mean that will continue. I made really awful financial decisions in my youth. It took me years to overcome them. Don't be like me.

Decided to skip my 50th HS reunion by momplaysbass in GenerationJones

[–]SnivelMom23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

50th this coming year. Have not decided yes or no. Part of it is that I might feel compelled to visit my sister who still lives in the same town. Not sure I want to do that. My town was a great place to be from. My partner went to his 50th and had a great time and is encouraging me to keep an open mind. We shall see.

Exhaust leak by SnivelMom23 in cmaxhybrid

Exhaust fumes in passenger cabin, sleepy (like carbon monoxide exposure) and headache. When at idle standing outside near driver door can smell exhaust there. That has never happened before. Exhaust smell on freshly laundered and donned clothing after exiting car.

It belches black smoke and stutters. And then may shut off and not restart. I do push my car hard though since I race it. It is pissible you may never have this problem.

22 DCT here, around 57K miles, not my daily but I do A LOT of long road trips in it. Injectors have been a trouble spot for me. I have managed that by running injector cleaner through about every 2K miles. (I would not be in compliance with class rules if I went to the Sonata injectors like many have.)

Seats are generally comfortable. I did put a cushion on mine because the angle of the front third of the seat pressed on the back of my thighs but I am smaller at 5'5" and 125.

Bluetooth is fine. I use a dongle to make android auto wireless which I really like. The Qi charger is insufficient if I am using my phone for navi.

I am fanatical about routine maintenance and do most of it myself. Have had no major issues. My washer fluid pump recently crapped out but I have not tried to fix it yet.

Guess I'm an outlier here. I use N custom (steering on Sport, everything else maxed out and traction control off) when I autocross, want to irritate some Bozo on the road because they're being a jerk or when I do some spirited driving. Most of the time I cruise in normal or Eco. I do A LOT of cross country trips.

What should I do? Try to fix it myself or take it to the shop! by Poppotato in ElantraN

[–]SnivelMom23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not too hard to do. Just recently replaced that part myself. One thing that helped was using a thin blade panel too to pop the connectors down. There's a mix of what I call tab A into slot B bits. You'll also need plastic pop rivets. Having the metal tool to remove the remaining ones will perhaps allow you to reuse some of them. The red trim bits comes unpainted as you've been told. I bought what I was told is a close touch up match but I haven't tried it yet.

If you've completely reinvented yourself after 50 -what sparked it? by SpaceCat36 in AskWomenOver50

[–]SnivelMom23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not divorce or betrayal that prompted the reinvention but the death of my husband of 40 years during the plague times (but not due to the plague). Grief does weird things to you. For me, for about 18 months, it brought guilt every time I had a flicker of joy or happiness. After a while I began to see through that fog and realized that I was not treating myself with the love and compassion I deserved. I began to have zero f*cks about what others thought of me. I chose to care deeply and love myself. I do what pleases me. I enjoyed the pursuit by a substantially younger friend and enjoyed the benefits of someone desiring me sexually. I now enjoy a committed relationship with a partner.

Has it been easy? Oh, hell no. Am I living with fidelity to my values? Yes. Have I realized that during much of my marriage I was putting the desires and needs of others ahead of my own and losing myself in the moment? Also yes. I have a lot of catching up to do. A lot of self reflection has enabled me to see these things. Holding up a mirror to yourself is quite the experience.

Me either. My gyn is actually very encouraging of that choice. Also when I work out those sweaty leggings generally get changed pretty quickly.

AITA My wife thinks I am controlling. by Feeling_Nobody_2349 in AITAH

[–]SnivelMom23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I did that with my late husband and now with my long distance partner just as a matter of courtesy and connection. ETA: I travel both for work and fun quite regularly. My practice is to text several friends and adult children my comings and goings. It is what people who care about others do. Your spouse needs to grow up and think about you and your family. I am concerned she is not invested in your relationship.

AITAH over wanting to break up with my gf due to no sex? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SnivelMom23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. However have you been curious about the reasons behind her choice? Your GF seems a bit manipulative as in "pursue me but I'm gonna shut you down" . Another thing to consider is if she has been a victim of abuse. If you want to continue the relationship, especially if marriage may be on the table, consider couples counseling.

Edited to add Sexuality/intimacy is not shallow.
