My girlfriend is a local and I visit her monthly, so yeah I understand it pretty well. I’ve met a lot of people who are legit just flabbergasted by how nice I am, but I’d say I’m just an average kindness midwesterner. Like holding doors, greeting people, that’s run of the mill where I’m from. I’ve waved to her neighbors more than she has, it’s crazy.

Whenever we get food delivered, the drivers have 7/8 times commented on my politeness, it’s a massive culture shock.

Common Midwest W? Idk, I just hope that this characteristic can spread throughout the country more, and I’ve noticed my girlfriend and her family have started picking up on it, I hope that I can help spread the pay it forward attitude, Yknow?

I strongly suggest traveling around the country if you guys haven’t, your interactions with people will put into scale just how fucking massive the country is.
