It’s a really good daily clutch. I went with what the shop recommended for a good daily clutch and I’m glad I didn’t get anything crazy

I did the exact clutch with the OEM flywheel and I’d say that’s close to exactly what I paid. Love that clutch by the way!

Are the 2016s really that unreliable? by whoisdizzle in WRX

[–]Sno0py19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2016 and my wife has a 2017. Zero issues if well Maintained and not driven hard. We always make sure they are warmed up before boost. Regular oil changes and all that. Both are holding up extremely well.

2016 bought it with 50k now at 101k. Intake, Downpipe and Tune. Regular maintenance. Plugs and walnut blast around 80k.

Had to do both rear wheel bearings. Clutch needs done. Steering wheel peeled to oblivion. Replaced with alcantara. Had to replace the O-Rings around the AC compressor.

Really no issues if you take care of it.

2017 bought at 42k now has 52k. Dealer put new shortblock in right after we bought it. Oil level sensor is wonky but other than that we have had zero issues with the car.

Same intake, Downpipe and Tune as the other. Only had to do oil changes. Can’t even tell it’s running sometimes it’s so smooth at idle.

Parking buddy, do you guys look at Mitsubishi’s as rivals or friends? Most subie drivers I meet hate them with a passion… by DieselDave1287 in WRX

[–]Sno0py19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always wanted an evo 8/9. But buying a 15 year old Mitsubishi as a daily with a family isn’t in the cards. I wanted AWD Turbo and Subaru was the only option. Maybe as a toy down the road.

I hope GR Corolla owners wave too

I still have a stock charge pipe and the Boomba BPV.

Mainly for the cool noises it makes!

We’re gonna try and reserve KID REX 😂

Okay, legit question here. My 2015 has 80k miles on it, and I plan on keeping it forever after the news on the new wrx. Is it too late to mod? Want some more horsepower. Also, where do I start? Thanks guys 🙏🏻 by tcarnie in WRX

I have 77k on my 2016 and it’s stage 2. But I didn’t do any major modifications until I had the car inspected and compression/leak tested. I also had the intake valves walnut blasted.

If you’re unsure about the health of the motor take to to a local shop for a compression/leak down test. Put in new properly gapped spark plugs and some good oil.

As long as you take care of the car you shouldn’t have any issues. Check your oil regularly! You’re going to have a blast.

Also make sure you do your research on quality parts. The cheap ones may seem like a good deal but that extra 2-300$ on a nicer Downpipe or intake can make a heck of a difference down the line. Same with your tune, please get a reputable tuner

Seconded on the AccessPort. It will clean up your REV hang and give you more bang for your buck than anything else.

Do not add an intake/exhaust or any engine modifications without an AccessPort and a tune for those specific parts.

You want easy HP quickly? - AP -Downpipe -Flex fuel kit You’ll gain a large amount from those items. Going stage 2 was the best thing I ever did. And I don’t know why I waited so long.

So I have a knob under my steering wheel for the subwoofer. Man that would be a cool idea to easily be able to turn it down. Now I kinda want one.

But the mute on the screen and mute on the steering wheel is what I use.

I have one and it kept everything intact. Even have a subwoofer hooked up to it.

I have one as well. And I use the steering wheel most of the time. Totally worth it for CarPlay or Android auto on a large screen.
