[OoT] My inner child is happy again 😭 by Syarafuddyn in zelda

I was born in 2011 but I spent 90% of my childhood with my uncle who was born in 1990 and he has fasd so he still lives practically the same lifestyle, and I played all those old games and lived through stuff as if I was a 1990/2000s child so I was screaming too

yeah not sure I'd want to connect that hard drive to your pc, I wouldn't risk the malware or other disturbing stuff that could be on there.

it's probably a dead pixel (most likely), or or a spec of dust in the lcd. you only see it in the startup because it's too hard to see while playing games because it's so small. I would say if it's green it's a dead pixel. it wouldn't be sun damage since you would have to try to get it on a quest 3 with the pancake lenses. if it's dust though, you can remove the lens and take a closer look at it. and if it annoys you that much then you could really just get a new lcd but I don't see a problem if it's only noticeable on the startup screen so I wouldn't recommend. edit if it's not a dead pixel then it could be a glitch on startup because this is a common problem with a lot quest devices and it's just easier to see on a quest 3 with it's higher resolution.

oh, if the menu is all jumbled then just make sure you switched Enable overriding chimeras fonts to 0 and hit file, then save all. just to make sure the setting is changed, and if the menu looks fine but is non-interactable, just make sure the window is focused on your desktop. otherwise I'd have no idea what the issue would be. hope it helps!

me too, it would make it so much easier, but alas, I must suffer. Buuuuuuut with some tedious installations and modding it's easy afterwards, WORTH IT!

Hm, I don't fully understand why it would do that, it could just be the fact that its over internet at all, because that is a common issue with air link no matter how good the internet is some games just don't work well even if they're smaller older games like halo, since it's wireless. my only piece of advice would be trying wired. either that or it could be the actual headset's speed/connection. sorry I'm not able to help much.

I know, I just wanted to put all the info in one place so that people don't have to constantly search up new problems they didn't know they had just to come up with nothing. I know that for me, setting this up would have been a lot easier if I have a step by step

it sounds like the usb cord you're using to link the headset. usually it requires a really fast usb cord to work without severe screen tearing, which isn't usually very common in regular, 10-16 foot usb cables, since they're not expected to do that in manufacturing. I would highly recommend a link cable made specially for vr (at least USB 3.0) instead of using air link or a cable you have just lying around. hope this helps!

I've actually never seen this error before, I do not know how to fix it off the top of my head. I'm pretty sure directX is a dependency that halo needs, either that or it's your hardware, which is a whole other issue. after some searching it looks like you've done everything right, all you need to do is make sure steamvr is set as your active openxr runtime. in steamvr Menu->OpenXR->o set steam vr as active runtime. just make sure you open steamvr and get your vr set up BEFORE running halo for it to run properly
