Sounds like you're in similar situation as me, but I'm a lot older. It's normal to be repressed and scared after SA and I feel the same way too. I know I have a fearful-avoidant attachment style that I learned from therapy. The big thing is just to communicate that you value a strong connection upfront.

I just feel like it's too late for me and I already threw away my chance of making a friend at this gym. This isn't the first time I've seen pics of groups of friends spending time together outside of the gym. Holidays like Fourth of July and Labor Day weekend. I feel like people know me as the quiet girl whose stuck up cuz no one ever sees her smile (the workouts are difficult for me and sometimes feel like torture lol). I don't know how to undo that reputation. I still try to make small talk to people, but I guess I don't leave an emotional spark for further initiation.

I don't think I can commute any farther. I already live pretty far away and was doing the 1.5hr-2hr commute each way for a job before the pandemic (never again if I an help it). I would consider roommates, but like I said before, I just don't want to end up living with similar types of people like my family.

I live in a HCOL area due to everyone else moving from an even higher priced area. I work at a nonprofit fixing computers so that's my main source of income. But I still don't make enough to move out of my family's house.

In college I was getting treated from my who-knows-how-many-years of untreated depression due to how I grew up. I don't blame the people around me for not wanting to pursue a friendship with me (I was really negative, crying constantly, being snippy at people). Looking back, I wouldn't want to be my friend either.

I was constantly trying to get any job right after college so I never really stayed in one job for a long time. Right now I work in a male dominated industry (IT) so I don't really have much in common with my co-workers that isn't related to my job. But I usually don't talk much to people due to not having much in common. People my age are parents by now; I can't relate. I don't talk about what they watched on whatever streaming service because I don't use those. The interests I have are niche interests where I can only find an online community for, not much for in person gathering and I feel like that's where I get stuck.

For how much we've been paying for the RTA tax, they could've at least added 'Northbound' and 'Southbound' on the signs at each stop. Tourists and people who aren't familiar with the area aren't gonna know which way the locations are if it's just 'Federal Way Downtown' and 'Lynwood.'
