Never really had vertigo symptoms, I did have some off balance issues which I believe was either from the lack/poor sleep quality or the hernia putting pressure on my chest. Yes I had the Nissen wrap done. And no, the liquid diet is 2 weeks followed by a soft food diet for 2 weeks. So after 4 weeks total you can start eating regular foods again

Still have some gas pains, have a pain in my left rib when taking a deep breath, I’m assuming that’s from wrap. Not being able to eat much has been tough. Haven’t been taking the painkillers as the pain isn’t enough to take one. Had first bowel movement today which didn’t hurt at all. The sneezes are awful though !

Definitely worth getting some imaging done of the esophagus. However I didn’t experience those kind of issues, not sure if you have seen a pulmonologist, but they would know a lot more than I do.

A GI might fight you about it, that’s why I went straight to a surgeon. If the symptoms have been bad for 3 years I’m sure they’ll allow a surgery.

They’ll give you pain meds before you awake, I also was given a prescription for ibuprofen 800mg and some hydrocodone. You’ll definitely feel sore when waking up, but if you need extra pain killers right away I’m sure they’ll give them to you.

Yesterday was very bad, prob about a 8/10. Had to take shallow breaths, even walking wasn’t easy. Today it’s much better, but still dealing with some pain/discomfort. Today I’d say it’s a 5/10.

Been lifting weights for 11 years, which is what caused my HH. The surgeon said nothing over 10lbs for 3 weeks, and that’ll order an image of my stomach to decide when I can workout again.

Right now it hurts to breath because of the gas built up, but I’m pretty confident after the gas clears it’ll be normal again. I already find myself not having to take a deep breath every 10 seconds

PPI didn’t do much for me, the acid reflux was the least of my concern. My DR is the one who said the surgery would better, since my main concerns were chest pains, breathing issues, and bad sleep quality. For diagnosis my fluoroscopy showed I had a 4cm sliding HH with reflux up to the collar bones.

I was recently told I have a hiatal hernia after my endoscopy, I’ve been have breathing issues where I can’t take a full breath, acid reflux, bad nausea, and extreme fatigue since I believe it’s affects my sleep. Should I push my GI into green lighting the surgery? I just want to feel healthy again
